bankroll management seems simple in theory, but in practice it’s tough to stick with it when you’re on a heater. How strict are you with bankroll rules?

The truth is that if you don't learn it the right way you're going to learn it the hard way and to a certain extent it's better to learn it starting out, because when you're more advanced it's not a question of attitude, it's also a matter of knowing when you have to stop, count and move on, because the world doesn't end up having a day or two days, a week or a month, a year of loss, the truth is that it gives you an indication that you have to improve and two to see the opportunities of what you are not seeing or of what you must improve and always going forward.

It´s mostly about discipline, regardless if it is BRM or at the poker table.
Bingo play with a too small bankroll hurts your performance at the table, bingo play at the table hurts your bankroll.
So better stick to a tight BRM.

I'm decent with brm. One leak I've corrected is tilt rebuying. One leak I can't correct is over withdrawing. I'm just super poor so I often need that 50 or 100 bucks leaving me with little to play with.

I think its very easy to follow bankroll management. There should be no rash decisions, just gradually move up when your roll supports it.

Correct bankroll management is one of the most important tasks of the player. I never break it.

Not very hard for me, but was hard for a few of my friends. One had a problem with playing casino (self-explanatory). The other needed 'to make it work', as it was a part of his monthly income. If you NEED that money, it's likely you will break the bankroll management and burn (or win big, who knows). If you're building a solid house, and have your finances in check without poke (so that any winnings are a bonus not a necessity), you will probably find it easy.

That said, I break the rules from time to time when I see significant extra value to be gained potentially, but in a way that wouldn't set me back too much, may be up to 10-15% for 1 BI.

Poker players overthink things. Just decide how much you can spend on poker per month from your salary, and play the most profitable or just the most fun game. Don't get stuck in small, high-rake games trying to build some abstract bankroll before moving on to bigger games.

It is certainly a challenge to manage funds in online games, but I think that if you set some limits and don't play under the influence of alcohol, everyone could easily manage their bankroll.

Of course I have taken some "shots" now and then like everyone else, but I have never played in a way, that seriously put my bankroll in jepardy, so that I for instance ended up with just a few pennies in my poker account and could only play freerolls or penny games. Its largely a matter of discipline, which of course some people have and others not so much.

Pressuming you are not a pro: Just play with the money you can afford to loose. When you loose them - STOP playing.

I was tempted to bankroll for a long time.I zeroed in on myself a lot of times. Then I switched strategies, which worked out beautifully.Discipline and self-control.
