Today I came across someone saying that certain slots “hit” more at specific times of the day.
I’ve heard similar things before, like:
  • Machines paying more at night.
  • Casinos loosening slots on weekends.
  • Certain hours being “lucky” for jackpots.
Personally, I don’t buy it since slots run on RNGs, but it’s definitely one of the more common casino myths.

Do you believe there’s a best time to play slots, or is it all just superstition?

For me personally, the best time is when I'm not in a hurry, when I'm in a good mood, and when I have the financial means to have fun. I've noticed only one pattern: the less money I have in my pocket, the less likely I am to win anything :)

Well slots hitting more at a certain time of the day is both true and untrue. It's untrue because the EV of slot machines are not changed during certain hours the RNG odds stay the same. It is true that slots hit more during peak hours but that's because there's more people playing them not because the machines are looser. (Low probability events happen more often with more people spinning)

That said, there are times where slots are +EV and do have a 'right time to play' such as must hit progressives and banked bonus features. There are even professional slot players (APs) who look for these spots.

No clue how often you have actually used these bonus features but according to some other myth bonus bet = scam bet
Also if you use autoplay in slots then according to some (weird) myth you should only use 10 spins at a time ...

Bonus bets probably vary from slot to slot (I'm not a slot expert so I'm not certain) I would assume some may reduce the RTP% which is probably where some are getting the = scam bet. Though I wouldn't be surprised if most are neutral in terms of RTP and some might actually increase the RTP. I don't know you'd have to look at each individual slot. But this isn't what I meant when talking about some slots having +EV situations

Also if you use autoplay in slots then according to some (weird) myth you should only use 10 spins at a time ...
Each spin is completely independent and have the same odds regardless of if you use auto spin x times, spin individually or pull the lever. I would recommend taking the slowest possible spin since you are playing a -EV game and taking longer stretches your play. Unless you are an AP who is playing a +EV game in which case spin as fast as you can. lol.

I think nighttime is the best time to play slots, when the machine is hot and ready to pay. But don't take my word for it.

The idea that certain slots "hit" more at specific times or days is a myth. Slot machines have programmed RTP % (Return To Player) and use Random Number Generators (RNGs) designed to keep outcomes consistent regardless of time. I believe playing at a particular time doesn't actually improve your chances.

This thread (and a quick google search) led me to learning about Advantage Players (APs) and how they find an edge in games. It seems to annoy the casinos (although not illegal) and requires a lot of patience and time (and probably better working in a team). So nothing that I'll be taking on!

hat’s the kind of thing only a casino owner would say.
When it comes to slots, there’s only one long-term winner — the house.

Can you please share what you have learnt...

Maybe we can work as a team to become the APs

Do you believe there’s a best time to play slots, or is it all just superstition?

The very true and simple answer is: "it's all superstition".

We all know that Slots are programmed to benefit the house no matter how much people win (Randomly).
Yes, a Slot machine could cough out some nice prizes and even huge Jackpots at times, but before it does that, it 1st "absorbs" a lot more than what it pays out.

However, I heard that some people could predict when a machine is about to pay off and chose the right time to get on it. But that also involves some work and a bankroll. In fact, they observe a machine for hours and even days till they know it's that time. It could be other techniques out there, but that's all I heard of.

Watching a slot for hours just to guess a payout sounds like too much work for me, I’d rather play for fun and accept the randomness.

I could've guessed that just from the way you play poker :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

I don't believe that the results of such games can somehow depend on the time of day, the season, or the weather. In my opinion, these are just superstitions and nothing more :)

My impression is that things go better when the number of visitors to the provider platforms is at its lowest

I think the best time is when you don't have financial problems and can afford such entertainment. As for day or night, personally, I prefer to play such games at night.

I think it's superstition. All slot machines are configured to give a certain percentage of money back to players, and I think it all depends solely on this setting. The time of day or day of the week doesn't matter at all :)

I used to hear that Thursday and Monday were the best because they made bank deposits on Friday and Monday night - so the machines would be the fullest, but it really makes no difference when you play.

On Progressive Jackpot slots the size of the jackpot does matter though.

I think it's better to play at night. During the day, you need to earn money so that you have something to spend at night. It's all logical :)

It is impossible to win at the casino; playing at the casino is for those who have extra money. The best time to play is at night.
