Why I Like Playing Suited Connectors

Personally, I enjoy playing suited connectors like 76s or 98s, especially in late position. They don’t always look strong, but when they hit a straight or flush they can win big pots. Of course, they can also get me into trouble if I overplay them, so I try to be careful when I miss the board.


For me, they make the game more interesting and give a chance to build a stack without always needing premium hands.

I feel the same way about suited connectors. They can build stacks when they hit, but at lower stakes I try not to get carried away with them. Most of the profit still comes from value hands, so I see connectors more as a bonus rather than the core of my game.

Suited connectors are gem if you play your position accordingly. But it’s never that good for 3-bet pre flop if anyone is betting aggressively unless you are sure that player is bluffing

Those are very good in big stacks because they have a lot of combos, including combos that are usually nuts like flush or straight and you can win a lot of chips with those.

But for the push-fold situations when you have few blinds left like 5-10, top kicker have higher equity generally, so hands like Q7o, A3o, K5o are better

But it also depends on range of you opponent, if your opponent has something super strong like AA, AK, KK, QQ, AQ etc, suited connectors will have higher equity because trash with top kicker will get dominated.
