This is a really interesting topic, and the projected growth sounds exciting, but I can’t help wondering what it will mean for regular players. Will we really benefit from a booming market, or will it just get saturated with AI bots grinding tournaments 24/7? It reminds me of CS2 farms where bots run around pretending to play, farming cases and selling them later – I’ve seen it myself. The idea of poker turning into that kind of automated grind would kill a lot of the fun and fairness. At the same time, I’m not convinced AI could truly win all the time, since poker still has a human element of psychology and unpredictability. Hopefully sites find a way to control bots, otherwise the boom might end up destroying the game instead of helping it grow.

While we can hope for the best I will not be holding my breath. My area of the world many say one it open up online poker its just going to boom in the states. My representative says no way in hell it will happen. Considering that my state just banned all online gambling this year "sub Sites" I have little hope it will ever happen. Based on the casinos in this region I cant help but feel very negative it will ever happen.

Like other I do hope it will happen but at this moment i am to bitter to put a positive spin on it.

I actually have feeling that poker will slow down in the next couple of years

Gen Z seems to be gambling in unregulated markets with digital objects, such as skins on video games or crypto. The gambling sometimes is sportsbetting but most often it's something that does not resemble any proper casino game.

I don't think poker has room in this arena.

PS. I also think AI and all this stuff is hurting poker rather than helping it grow

I don't think their definition of "poker boom" is near the same as mine or most poker players who actually played during the Moneymaker poker boom's definition. Because I don't see how poker can back to that now that geo-locking countries and states within their own player pool is happening. Then there's the DOJ they're still a huge issue for online poker.

Then there's plenty more issues and problems to worry about and fix. Like attracting players back to online poker and attracting the avg person who hasn't played online.

All this is gonna be fixed in 5 years....

I like to go online in the evening to play Stud H/L. It relaxes me.. And also when I win money in freerolls like at 888 poker I like to go on the casino side and play my favourite game Super Lions for $0.10 a shot.
All this from the comfort of my home.
Going to a Casino is like a minimum bet of $0.50 to $0.88. $50.00 does not last very long.

If countries like the Philippines continue to restrict online poker, we’ll end up being left out of this global "boom."

I just don’t see their logic in blocking pokerstars, WPTGlobal, 888, and partypoker—yet heavily promoting “scatter” games, which have proven to be highly addictive for many Filipino gamers. 🎲♠️🤔

About 8 years ago everyone was saying online poker was dead because of harmful software, and now we’re seeing such optimistic forecasts, even on a huge scale. Time will tell 😅 but honestly, it’s hard to believe in such progressive growth.

And this is a bigger issue than many realize in my opinion. I like to play to relax as well. Where else can I play a tournament for $1.10 and play for a few hours and go to bed. When Pokerstars had 300K US players on it in a work evening more than 95% " my opinion" player small buy in tournaments and 1/2cash games. My local casinio had $500.00 tournaments on the weekend. UMM hell i cant afford that. Of the doe have 1 $130.00 game on Wednesday at 12PM. Umm i work. Same issue with all other games in the casino games. In vegas this year all tables started at $25 min bets. Thats an issue.

People will need more leisure activities by then. The AI that is "going to save poker" will have taken all their jobs in 5 years time, according to AI experts like Geoffery Hinton the godfather of AI and Nobel Prize winner .
