They want me to verify my account but I signed up years ago just to play and learn with a alias name cause I prefer not to give out my ID to Online.
But since I've been playing freerolls for years with no problem... I am now blocked and I had a bankroll of nearly $800.00us just by playing freerolls. So do you think they would honour my account if I did verify my account??? Has anyone else done the same and what results came from that?

If you created an account under a pseudonym, you should have understood that you will not be able to withdraw the funds you win. If you didn't understand this, then this is probably not 888's problem, but yours. Since you created an account under a pseudonym to learn how to play, money is probably not relevant to you.

I don't think you would be able to verify your account because they would try to verify if the name you gave them was real.

I just sent the documents, I hope they accept!

They do verifications to see if the account holder is the person who he claims he is. If u put a fake name then they cant verify u.

There is no chance that they will honor documents that belong to a different name. What u could do is explain them everything in detail and hope they let u open a new account or adjust the name of ur current account. Good luck with that! Money is 99.9 % gone.

Well, in general, everyone plays under a pseudonym... maybe you put in the questionnaire a name and surname not such as in the passport, then tell the money so far... I can be wrong, but in the questionnaire it is possible to change only the address, but the name is not...

So you registered there using a fake name and you're surprised that they blocked you? lol
Write support , try to explain and verify your account , without verification you can never withdraw on any site !

You will have to give them your real name and provide them with ID and some other ID proof like an electrical bill with your name on it.
This is standard procedure.
I hate 888 but this is clearly your fault not theirs

Friend, verification on poker sites is a standard procedure. If you want to play under a pseudonym, then you should probably check out Replay Poker, where you definitely won't have any problems :)

Now it will be more difficult for you to pass verification than it would have been at the beginning of registration, but if you want to withdraw money, you will have to do it.

It's simple if you want to play with real money, you have to play with your real name. You can live chat with them to see what they will do now, but basicly you have lied and they can withhold your balance.

I looked on 888 for the exact ruling on that. But if you want to reopen an account they need your full name and some form of ID.

Just like you, poker websites need to follow the law in the country they operate in. It's called 'being compliant'. Meaning knowing who plays on their website and where the money is coming from. Failure to do so can lead to their gambling permit to be forfeited.

It depends, what you mean by "alias name". Most of us play under an "alias name", for instance mine is fundiver198 on 888 Poker (used to be fundiver199), and on pokerstars and ACR Poker I am fundiver199 just like here in this forum. However you are required to let them know your real name and other details like your birthday and place of recidence, when you open an account.

So if you did this but just did not send any documents yet to verify the information, you gave them, then you can just do it now, and then most likely your account will be unlocked, so that you can again both play and withdraw. But if you presented false information, when you signed up, like a fake name, then you should expect them to close your account and confiscate the money sitting in it. This is a serious violation, which poker sites dont tend to take lightly.

If you created that account with the purpose of learning and playing for fun only, then you were suppose to know that there was no way that you can withdraw your winnings because the info you gave them is not real, and there's really no way for them to verify that you are the owner of that account. If that's really the case then I see no foul play from 888poker

Since you've already heard the bad news what we do now if focus on the good news and bright side which is.....

You're winning a player and if you can make $800 from only freerolls then you can make money playing 2nl-10nl. So what you do now is find another place to play, download the software, create an account(using your name), verify said account, and than deposit $50 into the account. I see you're from canada....if you don't have a CIBC or BMO bank account opening one is the next step as it's the easiest way to get money on and off the site without using crypto.

Being from Canada you plenty of options on where to play. Pokerstars, party poker, GG and ACR poker being all the main sites. You can play at any of them. Out of those sites Pokerstars has the toughest competition in my opinion.

Next step for me would be playing 2nl full-ring(double tabling). But since you made money with just freerolls try some $1 MTT's or SnG's.

Personally I usually play 2nl and 5nl full-ring cash till I have $500. I than start playing $5 MTT's on the weekends. That's when the GTD's are the biggest. And I stay playing cash 10nl during the week.

Go make that $800+ more back. Best of luck.

Cheers!!!

Strictly speaking we dont know, if he is a winning player, since everyone can win money in freerolls. It does sounds weird to me though, that someone would have $800 in their account and not even have tried any regular games? Its certainly not a normal playing profile, so something about this whole story seem wrong to me

If he opened the 888 Poker account not using his real name, I guess, it could also be an option to just forget all about that account and the $800 sitting in it and then open another account on 888 Poker this time using his real name and other credentials. And then of course not tell 888 Poker anything about it being him, who was the owner of that other account.

For this to work he would probably need to change his internet provider and the gadget, he is playing from, so that there is no obvious connection between the two accounts. But of course if he is going to go through all of this, then its probably better to start on a fresh at another site, where he dont have this kind of history, which might lead to future problems, should they someone find out, that he had another account before.

I have no experience with Party Poker or GG Poker, but in my opinion ACR Poker might even have a tougher player pool than PokerStars. But of course it depends on, which exact games you are going to play. SnGs on ACR Poker are fairly soft until $3 games, but already $6 games are very reg infested.

Like maybe he opened the old account, when he was 16 years old, but now he is of legal age and can open an account in a regular way. For this to work he would probably need to change his internet provider and the gadget, he is playing from, so that there is no obvious connection between the two accounts.

I am generally not recommending people to break the TOS of poker sites. But in this situation the breach apparently happened already, and if he opened a new account, it would not hurt other players or 888 Poker, and then the lost $800 will hopefully have tought him the lesson, he needed to learn. If he already came clean with 888 Poker, then this obviously wont work.

Well I've never won anything outta freerolls played my share way back. So no not just anyone can win money from freerolls despite being a winning player. Bingo isn't for me. $50 to find out is nothing. Story is fishy.

He could go thru all that hassle I guess and the chances of getting caught would be pretty slim.

Maybe I have no experience with ACR lmao.

Cheers!!!

If you wanted to withdraw money, it means that you have achieved your goal, i.e. you have learned how to play poker :)
And in essence, this means that you can now earn money on any poker site. Congratulations :)

You could withdraw money through transfers to other users or through an exchanger. You should have thought everything through correctly before doing verification. Knowing 888 support, you can say goodbye to your account
