Do you ever fold trips on the flop?

I recently dropped the bottom set on a scarily coordinated board. Would you ever make such a laydown at the beginning of a handout?

Unlikely but anything is possible depending on the circumstances.

I don't think I have, and have regretted not doing so many times. Same thing with pocket Aces. You kind of know when they're not good but you continue anyway.

I don't think that folding trips on the flop is an option, similarly to how you hardly ever fold a good top pair on the flop. With trips it's even easier, because flops that allow trips do not include such notorious configurations as monotone, super-connected or three-of-a-kind flops that force you to play much more cautiously.

the only situation where I can fold set on the flop would be for potential flush

There is a difference between trips(as indicated in your thread) and a set. You might fold trips but should never fold a set.

Yeah, It's foldable,
for example if it's bubble time with dominating stacks in the pot or simply if it's not a top set and for example the flop is 789 all spades, with me looking at pocket 77 and bet + 3bet infront of me

It all depends on the situation, I don't rule out that I can do it. But in general, probably 95% of the time I won't fold.

Much better to lay the hand down at the beginning than calling flop and turn to fold the river

FYI they would have to bet alot more than pot on the flop to get me away

I usually play them till river at least. I think a set has good odds to become a full house or a poker, and most of the times you're ahead against draws or top pairs.

I forgot about that, because in spanish is called the same in both cases.
One was if you're holding a pair, and the other one is if you has one card matched with two on the flop, tight? But which one is which?

I might fold, even with this hand, if I'm not sure of my advantage. It all depends on the situation.

In general no since a set has equity against a flopped straight or flush, and if you got oversetted, its just a cooler. But with deep stacks and facing some massive overbet then maybe.

Agora sim He has already given up on some sets, because he had four cards of the same suit, and was losing far away

Thereis seldom time to fold, as I usually chase the full house with 2 more cards to drop after the flop.
