Thanks for the update (though it does not offer any further clarity unsurprisingly)

However, I have an issue with the links that Daniel Smyth is attaching to these 'news' updates. News should be neutral but Smyth included a strange link in his first update above, to Mike Graham. Mike Graham is a right wing commentator who often makes provocative and inflammatory statements on various subjects. I let that one slide as I thought the link might have been slipshod, but the fact is few would be linking to Graham as a credible news source.

However, the next link in this latest update is a conservative MP, Steve Baker, known as a hard right politician who then asserts he is not going to vote for any of the Covid 19 mitigating measures. The appearance given is Daniel Smyth is presenting the news in a neutral manner but there seems to be a hard right bias at play in what he is linking to.

I appreciate this is a poker forum based in America and most are not going to care. However, think of it like this - would everyone be comfortable if in a European poker forum, the news section was featuring clips taken from Fox News and and a politician such as Matt Gaetz?

To be clear, I have no issue to the text of the updates, just the dubious links supplied.

Here in germany we have meanwhile already such rules like the casinos in the UK also for restaurants and shops, that are not essential for daily life. You may only go inside when you are two times vaccinated and you have an actual negative test or when you have your booster. Looking at these high rising figures, that we have and also Great Britain has again, it is the best what they can do at the moment in my opinion.

Furthermore, I also would like to feel somehow safe when I go in a restaurant, shop, casino etc. Of course, there will be still a risk to catch Covid, but at least not that high anymore.

Getting back to the point of the question or thread here, i see it very clearly myself.

1. Its a choice, wear a mask and do/dont get vaccinated.
2. If you catch Covid and have not chosen to do either of the above - well i wish you the very best in your recovery.
3. Science or no science/conspiracy or no conspiracy, i really dont care - i choose to wear a mask and i choose to get vaccinated and im happy with that.
4. Dont wear a mask and you wont be admitted into many places as the mandatory requirements in most places now are starting to kick in.

I wish you all a safe and healthy xmas and a safe and healthy 2022.

I am thinking pretty much the same like you and also would like to say, it is up to them and their deciscion. But somehow I also think, we are at a point, when it is not only their decision anymore, if they do not wear a mask or do not want to become vaccinated.

They can be a danger for people who are not able to become vaccinated and with whom the immune system does not build enough antibodies. Furthermore, because of such people the new variants have more chances to develop. And another problem, that they increase with this the enormous bad effect on the economies of the countries.

Therefore, I think, it is not only their problem and it becomes a problem for the whole world community, when they are showing such a lack of solidarity.

Until they change laws and especially human rights laws - it will be down to individual decision, i agree - it should be compulsory but many would argue different.

Yes Shells - it would be a Covid Passport obtainable from our NHS (National Health Service) App.

So I wonder why players who are not vaccinated could not do the same?

I am not trying to stir needlessly here, I let the link slide in the first update. The second link was a little too on the nose. I am a political animal (as all know) but I prefer news sources as neutral, that is all.

I am sure there are some variations in Covid protocols, but I believe in Nevada if casino employees are unvaccinated they must submit to regular Covid tests. They aren't casually dealing poker tables without checks.

There is no dilemma or contradiction regarding masks. Omicron though not more lethal is by far the most infectious of the Covid strains. For the thousandth time...wearing a mask is not about protecting oneself primarily (especially when vaccinated) but protecting others from the fact that you might be infected without symptoms and unwittingly passing the virus on to others..
