Until Who went down, it sounded like an Abbot and Costello routine.

Who's second to act... huh?... Nooooo, Who's the pitcher. What's on second. :)

I remember Andy on the ropes. I noticed him counting his measly one and a half pink stacks with that familiar dejected look we've all had. Before you knew it he had six stacks if pink and the other two were struggling.

Nothing better than seeing Barry with that dejected "what am I doing here?" look on his face. Dude even rolls his eyes. :p

Good job Mr. Bloch.

Makes sense, I looked up his twitter and saw first tweet since February is today, including same link. I alerted Twitter.

Make sure you run Malwarebytes, Anti-Virus to be safe.

Also note he includes link in his profile at CardsChat.....

There has been a lot of negative buzz in Vegas and at the Rio this week about how poorly the WSOP is being run.

Issues have run from bathroom locations being moved, to inexperienced dealers to new rules. The most controversial rule is the one where players must announce every play verbally before they make it on the final table - this has players in an uproar.

After thinking about that for more than a few seconds, but less than 2 minutes I am prepared to offer a useless possible explanation;

It is a final table and they are all being streamed to the web, and it will prevent so much hassle if we get to actually hear the action on top of seeing it.:D

Ofc that is the reason - still doesn't make it even close to being a reasonable requirement for the players who are trying to win a bracelet. It is a rule that has never existed. Many players don't talk - the more you say the more tells you have. Also - because they have played poker all of their life without having to do it - it is very easy to forget. They are being penalized a round if they don't do it which is a HUGE penalty on a final table of a WSOP event.

Major fail by WSOP.

The pendulum swung too far the other way from last year's Negraneau rule (No talking during hands). Hopefully they will get it sorted out in short order.

Have noticed a 'theme' over the past few years that looks to be that the organizers of poker events (WSOP, and WPT) want to take the backroom out of poker. Keep as much as possible above board.

Problem with that is, IMHO, it reduces the game to bluffs vs luck.

So in most ways I would agree it all sucks, but on the other hand how are we in the US gonna pass legislation about a virutal game.............and how honest it is????

But I digress, and the hijack is unintentional...

The WSOP is underway! This year the final table of each event, with the exception of the Main Event and a few others, is being streamed live on www.wsop.com.

Last night I watched Event #2 up until Vanessa Selbst went out in 4th place--so close to taking a title and breaking a 4-year bracelet draught for women.

One tip about the Live Stream--you can fortunately skip the download to Vettle TV and go on to view it right from the website. Such a good thing because I didn't want to deal with yet another download.

I love our yearly CC conversations about this spectacular series and so look forward to following this one with everyone!
I think Vanessa Selbst must be the highest ranked woman player at this time. She's won over 5 million dollars in live tournaments. Not too shabby....

Not too shabby, indeed. :) As far as rankings go, last I heard is that she's just a couple hundred grand short of Kathy Liebert's 5.5 million in tourney winnings. I think Annie Duke is next with 4.2 million, followed by Vanessa Rousso (3.4), Annette Obersted (3.3) and Jennifer Harman (2.5).

That was a clarification of the "Jamie Gold" rule. Daniel was talking about his cards, though lying, in an attempt to read the other guy. (What would you do if I had KQ here?) The floor stopped play, and after hearing Daniels argument, they calrified the rule as to mean that you can't talk about your cards at all. Lying or not. Talking is still encouraged in the game. :(

Unfortunately this means Daniel (the headphoner) gets to continue with his annoying rabble. ;)
