Lately, I’ve been thinking about what really keeps me motivated in poker. It’s not just the money or the thrill of a big win (though that feels great). For me, it’s the constant challenge: every session is a new puzzle with different players, dynamics, and decisions.
I’ve also noticed how much poker mirrors real life. Patience, emotional control, adapting to unexpected situations — these skills help both at the tables and outside of them. Even on days when variance hits hard, I walk away feeling like I’ve learned something.
I’m curious: what drives you to keep playing? Is it the competition, the learning, the social aspect, or something else entirely?
