I would say that chess is more difficult, it is a game that punishes more when you make mistakes and that you have to think 3.4 or more moves in the future

Poker is harder.
People stated before in this post that poker is based on luck, i would say that if you are playing the luck game you never really played poker before.

Now the luck factor is what makes poker harder. In chess if you play better than your oponent, you will win. In the long run, poker is exactly like that, but in individual hands, poker is a game that you can do the right play and still lose.

Chess is litterally black and white, while poker is not.
I get what you’re saying…it makes poker harder to deal with psychologically…I would still say that chess has a higher required skill level.

I don't understand and can't play chess... but I'm a pro at checkers! I think in poker you need to think more... more opponents, more possible interesting events and outcomes in each hand. You need to think a lot and analyze your game and the game of your opponents.

Chess is harder, poker got variance and luck, a rookie can beat a pro, in chess that's not going to happen

Chess is the harder game.
I feel like some of the smartest people (very high IQ) are the best chess players in the world, whereas in poker, I don't think it is necessarily needed to be that smart.
Chess is strategy all the way and luck does not really come into the equation.
Poker has luck mixed with skill all over.

They're different. Chess is 1:1, but poker is 1:many, so I think the difficult part is different

I think chess is a more difficult game. Poker is essentially a simple enough game for those players who understand the importance of patience, discipline, focus and willingness to learn from their own mistakes.

What is harder in your opinion, chess or poker?
I mean computers have solved chess. They haven't solved poker but nearly there. I think that's a quick answer to that question!

Poker is actually harder than chess in many ways, even though it doesn't always feel that way. In chess, both players can see everything—there's no hidden information. If you're better, you'll probably win. But in poker, you don’t see your opponents’ cards, so you have to make decisions with incomplete information—and that makes the game much more complex.

Also, while a computer could 'solve' chess decades ago, poker took way longer to crack—even just a simplified two-player version—because there are so many more possible situations, especially with bluffing, different bet sizes, and psychology involved.
