Hey everyone! I was extremely active in the cardschat freerolls and events, but then I missed one of the team league seasons and didn't log on for several months. I love my Platinum status, but I'll get that back no worries. It made me wonder what's the longest break the cardschat community has taken from poker and feel free to share how long your breaks typically last and for what reason. I know most of us are going to keep returning to the tables eventually. Something about poker keeps bringing us back! :)

My last break was beginning of August but that was due to a holiday. I couldn't log on so I pushed poker from my mind. I may have an odd prior commitment once in a while (not often). Otherwise I tend to be playing every day.

My longest break has been a 1-2+ years. Currently this year I've played less the 2k hands of cash and only 6 MTT's so far. This should likely change with fall/winter on the way.

With the above said. My typical avg break is only usually 2-3 months.

Cheers!!!

Hello everyone. As they say, in a vacuum, in the short term, a day or two without poker, but over the long term, there are no long breaks at all. I play constantly, not just freerolls, and I've almost slowed down my pace at the cash tables.

I still play freerolls occasionally, paid poker I have had gaps easily of a few months, maybe half a year, especially if doing courses outside work.

About 10 years when I felt they use algorithms and schedules to run games.

Due to work, I had no opportunity to focus on poker. My longest break was about six months.

Sometimes I go a while without playing, to rest my head, I love playing poker but I find it a very tiring game.

My longest break from poker was probably around 3-4 months. I just needed some time away to reset and focus on other things, and when I came back, my focus and patience at the tables were much better.

I used to play actively on CardsChat back in 2018–2019, but then I completely stopped playing poker for a few years. In 2024 I decided to return, and now I mostly play in the evenings whenever I’m in the mood. It actually feels refreshing to come back after such a long break, like rediscovering the game all over again. I guess poker really does have a way of pulling us back sooner or later.

I've been playing for almost 23 years now and I don't remember taking a break from the game longer than 3-4 days. These breaks were mainly due to random events and not to excessive poker playing.
