Hello, my friends. Lately, I've often wondered. Which country is best for online and offline poker player?

Such aspects as climate, household resources, places for recreation are very individual, I understand. Each person has different preferences and needs. But still, where officially and proudly can I say that I play and earn poker? Where are there no restrictions? Where can you live and enjoy the fact that you are doing what you love?

My opinion is USA and Argentina. I am very interested in hearing your opinion. Which country would you choose?
sweden, the netherlands, or finland. I would also be ready to consider canada or the UK as an option. But I don't know anything about the legislation of these countries in the context of gambling. And in general, I would hardly move to another country for the sake of playing poker. If I did, the reasons for moving would definitely be different. For me, poker is just a hobby.

I think the country to play poker is the United Kingdom, many players go to that country to start their career as a professional poker player.

I've also heard many times that argentina is a great country for poker players and gamblers in general, the legislation is very loyal. But I would rather move to the United States :)

Scandinavia. Winnings are tax free. Otherwise we pay about 50% tax of our income. Still, you have no tuiton fee to study at University etc. - you actually get paid for studying. Healthcare costs zero.
All the girls are blondes.
I lived in Iceland for two years. It was difficult. It is cold, the wind is 90 km/h, in winter it is dark all the time, in summer it is light all the time. Housing is expensive, life is expensive. But this is a great place to self-isolate, know yourself and become stronger. It was there that poker came into my life. So I'm grateful to the place.

I love Iceland and the people. Have had quite a few student from Iceland at Københavns Universitet I know that due to history some people from Iceland are reserved towards Danes. The people I’ve met speak Danish and are superbly integrated. Reykjavik is a cool city.

Maybe a country where life is cheap and taxes are low would be a great place to live and play poker.

I would choose Canada, Sweden, or Belgium. But I wouldn't choose these countries because of poker, I would choose them because I like them :)

Kazakhstan. Everything is great with online in the country. Only partypoker and unibet are unavailable, other rooms accept players from Kazakhstan without any problems.

I don't have in-depth knowledge of the laws of each country, but I believe the United States is one of the best at the moment, especially Las Vegas.

According to Google. Countries where poker winnings are tax free(not in any kind of order):
1) Austria
2) UK
3) Canada
4) Sweden
5) Malta
6) Germany
7) Italy
8) Australia
9) Belgium
10) Bulgaria
11) Czech Republic
12) Denmark
13) Finland
14) Hungary
15) Luxemburg
16) Romania

Now which one of these countries has the best quality of life, free healthcare and the lowest cost of living?

Cheers!!!
Perfect, almost all countries suit me. I would probably be happy to move to any of them, except Romania.

Nice I don't think they all suit me. Never looked that deep into any of them just judging from earlier comments and what I already know about some of them countries. But than my mom always said I was fussy :ROFLMAO:.

Cheers!!!

The best country for a poker player to live in depends on several factors like tax laws, accessibility to live and online games, and quality of life. Countries like the UK and Canada are popular because they don't tax gambling winnings, allowing players to keep more of their earnings. Malta is another favorite due to its warm climate, poker-friendly community, and relaxed tax laws. The Philippines and Thailand attract online players with affordable living costs and poker-friendly environments. Choosing the best country ultimately depends on a balance of tax benefits, quality of life, and personal preferences.

Online poker isn't even legal in the USA and it's taxed so it's certainly not there.

No idea which country I'd choose to be honest but USA would be near the bottom(unless one only plays live). One thing I can say is living in Canada it's pretty nice that gambling and poker winnings are completely tax free and we Canadians(outside Ontario) can legally play on any site. Too bad the cost of living is so expensive. Otherwise I'd choose Canada 110%. Tax free being huge.

Surely there's another country where gambling and poker winnings are tax free, the cost living less then Canada and where it's legal to play on any site. So I'm looking forward to this post and getting educated.

Cheers!!!
do they have to pay tax on poker winnings in the USA?

As the USA is the home of poker, I would have thought the answer was obvious.

Yes the in the US they have to pay taxes on poker winnings and you can't even play legally from the majority of States in the USA. So overall the best place isn't the US. Even thou for live poker it's likely good.

Also the US doesn't even have a great quality of life or a low cost of living. So it isn't near the top overall. Cost of living the USA ranks 14th. Quality of life the USA ranks 21st. Plus you want me to pay 24% taxes on poker/gambling winnings and not even be legally allowed to play online in the vast majority of States. Delusional. Lmfao yeah right.

Live anywhere poker is tax free and fly in for the wsop every year. Any WSOP winnings could likely be still taxed thou even if not a citizen.

Cheers!!!

My list is as follows : Canada, the UK, Sweden, germany, the Netherlands, and Finland.
I would not hesitate to choose one of these countries if I were to make such a drastic change in my life and move to another country.

México, tax free and you’ll have a nice live style because you’ll earn usd and spend in Mexican pesos, living in Mexico is way cheaper than in us.

Can you help me to get set up in a decent location there? (I am serious).

Which online sites are available to play on in mexico?

I think that Malta is the paradise of poker and other games of chance, so good luck to everyone to get to live in Malta.
