Chess is very hard against a quality opponent. My rating fluctuates between 1090 and 1200 and I just can't get further. I've been playing online for around 6 months and I've starting to use Gemini and Grok as coaches.
If you want good coaching ask one LLM a question in an area where you are weak, then re-ask the question of the other LLM with the first reply. Tell that LLM you think they can do it better and believe me they will.:)

With chess, the better player or rather the better play almost always wins. If one opponent is substantially stronger than the other, he will win practically every time. At poker...you know the rest.

The games are about as difficult, with the luck factor prevailing more in poker.

In poker, a lot depends on luck. In chess, however, everything depends more on the player's skills, and the luck factor is kept to a minimum. I think chess is a more complex game.

Without a doubt, it is more difficult to play chess, if you can make a rash move in poker and win at the same time, then it is impossible to do this in chess.

I haven't played for well over a decade but apparently I am still ranked 64,250 in the world and am just outside the top 1000 in England. This is my greatest game, played in a 1998 ten minute tournament.

For me it's more difficult to play chess, as you can't bluff there, unfortunately. :ROFLMAO: But I have to admit that I never learned to play chess and I only know basic rules. I very rarely win against my friends in chess. That's why I like to play poker more. ;)

I think being very good at chess is a lot harder than being very good at poker.

Chess is a game you should learn backwards. Start with Reuben Fine's BASIC CHESS ENDINGS then some books on the middlegame, then the openings. Most young players start by learning reams of opening theory, or they did when I was young.
