Many people see poker as just a game of luck, while experienced players believe it’s all about skill and strategy.
In your opinion, what’s the real key to winning in poker?
Can a skilled player consistently overcome bad luck?
Have you ever had a hand where you won with bad cards or lost with a strong one?
Are you Team Skill or Team Luck?
What’s your strategy to deal with randomness?

Can a skilled player consistently overcome bad luck? No, but he has a good chance of doing so
Have you ever had a hand where you won with bad cards or lost with a strong one? Yes, many times
Are you Team Skill or Team Luck? I am a player with little skill and also little luck
What is your strategy for dealing with randomness? Just get into hands that I think I can win and not pay with any card.

Any other questions?

Mostly luck, you need the run of cards. Skill element comes in when you decide when to play, fold, raise etc. Skill comes to play in reading other player’s playing history and possible weaknesses or leaks. There is skill in winning a MTT, due to the difficulty of keeping concentration and knowing when to get involved or not over a long period of time. One has to just suck up randomness as this is the nature of the game.

95% luck
5% skill

a poker millionaire is mayb even not that good vs a online nerd that plays micro cash games .
so it depends on what you call success’s in poker ?
you want trophies? Or just little money from part from the cakes 🎂?
I think you need to be an funplayer at same time to build succes with the game
if you have not fun, go play blackjack and make easy money with easy decisions
if you don’t love the game you can not win at long term.
so skill doesn’t really matter that’s why I said 5% just.
if you don’t love the part of the luck 95% you can not be successful in the game like you can not reach your best level with the game..
otherwise everybody and anybody can win 1 big tournament and win 6figures in dollars
question is , is that a good player yes or no ?
I think with luck you win more trophies aswel vs the skill part
because at same level of big tournaments everybody has the same skill and level of playing so they need. A lot of luck too with the skill that everybody already has .
pand luck is unique
every hand is different
every hand is a new lottery new flip
its not much skill that you can win a lot with 7/2 vs AA
you just need luck That your cards opens /you hit every time you decide to play with A hand.
skill 5% important
luck 95% important
that makes difference (you are a winning player or not) just luck that easy 🍀

My point is this:
- for a short term luck is very important
-for a long time good decisions and A game is essential

There are players who keep winning in games like live streamed cash games or heads up tournaments where skill differences really show.
They've found success by sharpening their skills.

It’s a game of skill or you wouldn’t.see the same players at the final table, over and over.

Although it is a game of skill, since the outcome depends primarily on individual skill and skill, poker also depends on luck, ensuring that each player's strategy is aligned with the cards dealt at the table, which must match their hand. That said, I would say that it's not about skill or luck, but rather about skill and luck in poker.

I think success in poker is mostly skill in the long run, but luck definitely plays a role in the short term. You can't control the cards you get, but you can control how you play them, and that's where skill makes the real difference

poker books tell us that poker is 80% skill and 20% luck! And that explains why there’s people that live from poker.

Luck is not a tangible...it is the name we ascribe to thinks that happen unexpectedly or improbably...
Also Supreme courts in Europe have ruled tournament poker as a game of skill in which luck has a feature. Cash game is the inverse.

It's a good mix of both.
You can't have one without the other.
But no matter how skilled you think you may be, without luck it means nothing.
