Yes, of course, I am sure that it is possible to make a living playing poker. I personally know people who have not worked anywhere for many years and make a living playing poker. This money is enough for them to provide for themselves and their families. I am sure that if you work hard on yourself and your game, you can achieve a good result. In any sport, there are a lot of professional players, but only a few become champions, those who work harder than others and believe in themselves and their strengths more strongly. You are right that the right mindset and the ability to overcome variance are perhaps some of the main factors, without which it is almost impossible to be a plus player. When a person understands this, he just needs to start working on these points and I am sure that everything will be fine.

once questioned a poker pro who transitioned to real estate....said it was way too difficult to make a consistent living.
the boom days of taking advantage of low poker iq people were gone in his eyes...plus the amount of travelling and time away was hard on families...

pokerpros today get more money from endorsements than prizemoney and they are often staked into games

i feel like its pretty tough and you have to be supremely strategic with time and resources.

I think it is a game, and it is very difficult to make a living just from playing the game. It is a kind of hobby, a kind of entertainment!

Yes, it's possible. Just look at the number of players who dedicate themselves to this, but it's not easy; it requires a lot of discipline.

It is very difficult that is why you see a lot of pros streaming etc. to make income that is related to their poker play but not dependent on it if you took away streaming ,sponsorship etc. very few would make a living playing poker

You can make a living from poker and there is a lot of evidence for this.

Everything is possible.
The question is what kind of work and income it would replace, is it worth it to change?
It requires a lot of learning, diligence and strong mental skills.
It is harder alone, easier with a backing group, especially in the beginning.
There is development, a stable supply of money and generally a mental coach.
I don't recommend it, I lived quite well from Poker for years, but if I could, I wouldn't choose this path now.

Yes, it is possible to make a living from poker, but it’s extremely challenging and requires more than just knowing the rules. To succeed long-term, a professional poker player must consistently beat the games, manage their bankroll wisely, control emotions under pressure, adapt to ever-evolving strategies, and treat poker like a serious job. Variance, downswings, and changing environments (like tougher opponents or legislation) can all impact profitability. While a small percentage of players manage to do it full-time, most either supplement their income or play recreationally. Discipline, study, and mental toughness are key to making it sustainable.

Yes, it’s possible, but it takes a lot of skill, discipline, and bankroll management. Many struggle, so treat it like a serious business if you want to make a living.

Yes, it's possible to make a living from poker, but it requires a high level of skill, continuous dedication, discipline, and good financial management, as luck is a factor and losses are frequent. To become a professional, you need to study the game in depth, practice constantly, analyze your own mistakes and those of your opponents, develop an athlete's mentality, and learn to handle the pressure and financial volatility of the game.

I've heard it's hard to make a living playing poker. How much poker experience do I need?

I'm not sure but I'll try it. So far, things are not going well. I think a lot of streamers will make money differently from the game itself than from the affiliate program. And if you want to make money playing poker at MTT, you have to play real tournaments. There's some nonsense going on in online poker. Poker platforms benefit from dirt, and all the talk about fair play is just another lie. Well, that's my opinion maybe I'm wrong. In general, it is possible to earn a couple of hundred bucks a month, but you have to spend a lot of time.

...when you are close to mastering the art of poker I believe it is possible, but on this path it is necessary, above all, to master the downswing, for me this is the biggest challenge for players, as it takes away confidence and the will to win, as the fear of losing ends up becoming greater...
