We all know poker (and sometimes even casino games) can be a real time magnet—you sit down “just for a bit” and suddenly hours disappear like magic. It got me wondering… how much time do you all actually end up playing every day?

For me, it’s usually around 3–4 hours daily, and this has been my routine for the past six months. Some days I feel like I’m being super productive, other days I’m like: “Wow, I really just played half my evening away!”

So I thought I’d throw this question out to the community:

- On average, how much daily playtime do you put in?
- Do you hop in for a quick session, or lose track of time and grind for hours?
- Has your poker clock changed over time? (Are you playing more… or maybe less than before?)

Be honest—are you a *just 1 hour and done* kind of player, or do you secretly grind like it’s a mini full-time job?

Looking forward to hearing how everyone manages their poker time!

Good question!
There's one more variation in my case. Time and quality time aren't the same thing. For example, I play poker for about 5 hours almost every day. However, most of the time, it's not quality time. I play on the bus while commuting to work, I play late at night when sleep steals my attention and limits my play. I play while doing other activities...
I rarely have quality time to play. And this seriously compromises my game.

I do resonate with that. Even I do multitasking while playing tourneys.

I play freerolls every day. If the rooms gave money for every freeroll, I would have bought an apartment by now🤣

My game session takes about 5-7 hours

I tend to play most afternoons and evenings. 4-8hrs. Sometimes there's an awful lot of multitasking involved. Cant do everything during 5min break.

For me it’s usually 1–2 hours in the evening. If I try to play longer, I notice my focus drops and mistakes creep in. Shorter sessions keep me sharper.

If I’m feeling sharp and focused I might do two short sessions of about an hour each, just to keep my decisions clean. Other times if I’m running well or really locked in, I’ll end up grinding three or four hours straight without realizing how much time has passed.

Over the years my clock has actually gone down a bit. When I first got serious about poker I’d play long marathon sessions thinking more volume would automatically mean more results. Now I try to balance study and play, so the hours are steadier and I don’t burn out.

Looks like you have evolved taking your games to another level. 😁

That’s cool. Just wondering how many tables will you be playing at a time?

I play every day for 7 hours, and sometimes longer. Of course it happened to me that I did not plan to play for long, and I stayed more hours in the games than I planned.

I play whenever I have free time. On regular weekdays, I barely play tournaments nowadays—mostly just on weekends, and usually only on Sundays. On normal days, I try to find at least 1–2 hours for cash games before going to bed

Does that mean you are a full-time poker player? And poker is the only bread winning you got?
