Between the mind games and misreads during a poker game, whether live or online, there must be a funny moment that stands out to you.

What is the funniest moment you have witnessed during a poker game online or live?

For me personally the most funny moment I witnessed was online. I saw a guy putting in basically all of his 100 big blind stack but then he still folded to my reraise with 0.1 Big blind left. It was probably a missclick but still pretty funny to me as I could not believe it. I had A10 on a jkqx Board.

My funny moments it's when the opponent it's showing better hand, and till end I winning the hand with 30%+ equlity.
As well one time I bluff a opponent in offline poker with 27 last 13 remaining, and another players it's doing the same bluff with the same player, and the same hand, and it's showing to him his bluff was funny.

One in a cash game at out favorite casino I flopped a set of 8s on an 863 rainbow flop. A very loose player bet, I called. The turn came a 6 giving me a boat, he shoved all in, I called with my boat, rolled hands and he 66 and hit quads on the turn. I said aloud : "god Dammit' in frustration as the dealer put down the river , an 8 , giving me quads. Someone asked why I swore, My smart answer was , " he owed me a one time so I needed to get his attention".

I do not associate fun with poker. It's a dog eat dog world to me. But here we are teddy bears

Fun? Maybe Negreanu yapping his pie hole is the closest thing to fun that I've seen

funniest moment to me happened in a live game, a newcomer, just sat down, first hand goes all in with pocket kings and loses to my straight. He stands up and says ( that was fun! ) and then left.

Went in to a casino drunk, sat one hand with £100 buy, 1/2 bb in 4,7 suited diamonds. raised preflop like 20 quid, got 3 callers. flopped a flush. Went all in and got 3 callers again. Left straight after that hand. Laughed my way to the cashier with all the players giving me straight dagger eyes

I was playing at Seneca Niagara casino in Niagara Falls, NY. A young guy comes in to play poker on his 21st birthday…the first time he can legally play at a casino. He was quite chatty and outgoing…he played cautiously at first, but started to chat up a very attractive lady probably in her mid 50s. A few hands in, the young guy really started to hit on her while they were both in the hand…he thought he was trapping her, both with his hand and his banter. She smiled, blushing and playing it coy. The chips go all in and the birthday boy thinks he’s won the hand and a possible date. She turns up a flopped set to his two pair…birthday boy leaves broke and alone. Everyone at the table laughed because the guy was so transparent.
I don’t blame him for flirting with a beautiful woman, but not in a poker game.

Not sure if this is that funny, but it's what I can recall ATM.

I was playing in a regular HG and after a long card dead period, this aggressive guy (a cop) raised, I found A4h and shoved hopping he'd fold but he called with KK. The flop came K44. He promptly yelled: "Drawing dead baby!". Our host said: "No he's not", so they end up betting a $100 on it, the cop giving the host 5 to 1.
Turn: 4, River: 4.

So there were 5 fours in that deck?

People randomly flopping quads after shoving medium or low pocket pairs preflop never stops being funny

I can't remember them all but one of the funniest things online will always be when Chris Moneymaker sat staring into

space for what seemed like 5 minutes at the wsop....and everyone kept looking around and waiting... and he just kept

staring back through his reflective sunglasses.... and finally someone said it's your turn... he had no clue it was even

his turn, was just sitting there looking like a doofus staring into space , anyway every time I see him to this day

all I see is doofus, sorry not sorry😅 p.s this video still makes me lol👍

Getting called bluffing the river with nine high in a cash game after the calling player wrote in the chat box "I got a read on you, idiot". And I won the hand!

I guess the other player thought he was Stu Unger reincarnated.

(Probably a missclick/missread).

Bonus (watched it on TV):

TV commentator: He went “from short stack to chip leader while eating a shrimp cocktail”. Showing a very drunk player going all-in with almost every hand while more concentrated on being able to eat than on the poker being played. ( I guess you have to see it).

Just for you Shells - I will tell this true story....

Live daily tournament. In the back of the room.

Playing around 1/2 hour and "new guy" is playing ABC poker and winning some big hands against regulars who were trying to get chips from a newcomer.

New guy is up ~50% from starting stack and feeling pretty good.

Gets up from the table and grabs a plastic chip rack.

Starts loading his chips into the chip rack. Gives the table a good look around and says, "I'm not greedy. This is good enough." and leaves the table with his chips in a rack.

Players are all looking at each other puzzled and also looking at the dealer who shrugs his shoulders. Did I not notice the floor tap him on the shoulder for a table consolidation?

Player walks to the cage and of course I hear a player ask, "What is he doing?"

He talks to the cage and then slowly walks back to his seat at our table. And, seemingly embarrassed, he unracks his chips and sits down and continues to play until our table breaks.

I think somebody asked him what "No cash value." means. lol

And then my neighbor holds a chip out to me with his thumb covering the "No" so it just shows, "cash value" and asks if I want to buy his $100 chip for just $10.

We all had a good laugh.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::LOL:

It happened to me, and it was funny to me. I was already a little tired of spending hours playing, as I was on multiple screens and the smaller size to fit them, and adding the fact that I don't have eagle vision (I identify more with the rhinoceros). I was dealt A4 off the UTG, I sat up in my chair believing it was a pair of aces, I received a 3-bet from the button, I made a 4-bet, and we saw the flop 23K rainbow. Since the pot was already quite large, I went all in with my supposed pair of aces. When he called, he had a pair of Kings in your hand. I believed I was eliminated from the tournament when the turn came a Queen and the river a 5.
When I won the pot, I didn't understand; I only realized the feat I had accomplished when I saw the hand history.
And at that table, I certainly became more famous than usual for being a donkey.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Few hands later were tangling again I shove the river and he said smth like :

I think that online there aren't many funny moments, live there are many moments of laughter because you play while talking to people, so there are more moments like that.

Twice , once online and once live this has happened to me. The board has quads with an Ace kicker. I have went all in and on both occasions and had people muck their hands. Make money that way , go all in when the board is the nuts , every muck means more for you.

Fun is very important in poker because it keeps you motivated, reduces stress, and helps you maintain a healthy mindset during both good and bad runs. When poker is only about money, it can become frustrating and mentally exhausting, especially during downswings. Enjoying the game makes studying and improving easier and prevents burnout. Fun also helps you avoid emotional tilt, as you see the game as a challenge rather than pure pressure. Ultimately, having fun keeps poker sustainable long-term.
