I recently read The Mental Game of Poker by Jared Tendler and found it really useful for tilt control. Do you have other book recommendations that helped your mindset or mental game?

I have also read this book. It is indeed very useful. As for other books related to poker, I can recommend - Andrew Seidman - "The Easy Game".

Honestly I got bored reading it... maybe even a bit tilted by reading it.
Pretty sure I won the 2nd book here on CC. (or that might've been the book of tells... or maybe it was both).

For books these days I really like Dara O'Kearney's books.

The Mental Game of Poker by Jared Tendler is hands down the best for mindset. Helped me deal with tilt and focus better during long sessions.

A couple of other standout recommendations:
The Easy Game by Andrew Seidman — excellent for mindset and game flow.
How to Play Ace-King by James Swinney — great for sharpening mental clarity at the tables.

I have found that pokercoaching.com has a lot of articles /books that addresses tilt. It really addresses the cause of tilt and once you realize it is unavoidable mathematically, you will resist it better. After I lose a big share of my stack do to unlucky cards, I look at how many bbs I have and adjust my game to reflect my stack size.

All my books are pretty much 15+ years old now so likely not of much use in 2025. Back in the day they were the best to be found.

I've heard nothing but great things about Modern Poker Theory(Amazon link below). If I was to buy a book that would be the one along with the one you already read. I think now most poker stuff is more focused towards online courses and such over books.

Cheers!!!

To be honest, Tendler didn't help me at all. But what really changed my perception of bad beats and poker in general was Stephen Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" (I'm writing the title as it sounds in translation into my language, I can't say exactly how it sounds in the original).

There are quite a few poker books that focus less on hands and more on mindset, discipline, and long-term thinking. ‘The Mental Game of Poker’ by Jared Tendler is a classic—it dives deep into controlling tilt, building confidence, and staying focused under pressure. ‘Elements of Poker’ by Tommy Angelo is another favorite; it’s full of practical wisdom about making better decisions and enjoying the game without letting emotions take over. I also recommend ‘Poker Mindset’ by Ian Taylor and Matthew Hilger, which explores the psychological challenges players face and how to overcome them. For me, these books are invaluable because improving your mental game often has a bigger impact on your results than just learning new strategies or memorizing odds.
