Yes, poker can have an impact on personality, although not always in an obvious way. Playing poker, especially on a regular basis, can develop certain character traits, such as patience, self-control, the ability to analyze information and make decisions under uncertainty. At the same time, poker can enhance existing traits, both positive and negative, such as a tendency to take risks or a desire to dominate.

For me, poker is an entertainment that allows me to distract myself. I think thanks to poker, I've become more calm and more patient.

Poker has fulfilled some of my desires that I wouldn't have been able to fulfill with my salary alone.

I believe that any activity you do for a long time shapes your personality and helps you evolve. It’s important to be self-critical so you can learn from your mistakes and improve every day.
Poker is interesting because every decision you make directly affects the outcome. So when you face a tough spot but you know that, in the long run, you’re making a winning decision, it helps you not stress so much if variance doesn’t go your way.
I learned this from playing poker and I apply it to my work life too. Sometimes we have to make choices that feel bitter in the moment, but we know they’re the best decisions in the long run

I wouldn’t say changing personality, but but something about patience or learning to wait to get more at some moments of life, poker upgrades it somehow.

I feel that it has helped me to be a calmer person, I don't know how to explain it, nowadays the feeling of frustration is no longer so bad, I deal better with my emotions, and I feel that it was due to poker, I also feel that I have become less “explosive” when it comes to making hard/risky decisions, now I can deal better with that explosion of feelings at critical moments

Yes, definitely poker has helped me think more globally. I've also become more focused in my daily life. Poker has also helped me in dealing with people. I've learned more deeply the psychology. But I don't think I have reached my limit of perfection. ;)

Poker, as a game that requires a high level of intelligence and self-control, can have an impact on a player's emotional and psychological state. But Losses, especially when they're caused by bad luck or ridiculous mistakes, can lead to disappointment and anger, which can have a negative impact on your emotions

After getting rivered several times you learn to adjust your expectations and wait for the river to be dealt before celebrating.

I feel meditation techniques help me deal with adversity better. So poker does not make me a better version of myself persé, it does compell me to improve myself long term.

I don’t tilt from bad beats anymore — I guess I’ve just accepted that today it’s them hitting runner-runner with 72 offsuit, and tomorrow it’ll be me. As for changing me as a person? Nah, still the same old me… just with more grey hair.
