Do you think poker will continue to grow or has it reached its peak?

I've seen a lot of people commenting that poker is growing again, with more people playing online, new streamers emerging, and even more popular live events.

But I also see those who say that the “poker boom” has passed, and that today it is more difficult to win because of the level of the players.

What do you think: does poker still have room to grow more or are we already at a point of stability? And what could make the game explode again?

Well, there is always a place to get better. Nowadays, it is about a perfect strategy and GTO and AI analysts being implemented. It doesn't necessarily mean that it will destroy a game like checkers or chess when it becomes a solved game. There is always space for personalisation of style. Surely, there might be a "perfect" way to play a hand, but poker is also about psychology, so in the long run, it is about reading players, which AI can't do really well. It might evolve poker into a different direction of more psychology than there is already, and take away from online poker, but regular tournaments should stay in play for longer.

Well online poker and poker are 2 different things, the wsop for example has record number of players although this year may be

a little different due to a lot of non poker related reasons, online has declined from its peak due to a lot of reasons and also

including online poker laws getting more and more restrictive but poker has been around forever so don't count poker out just yet👍

I think that in this short time it has grown, influencers have helped with that, people are starting to be more interested in casino games and with it poker, I think poker is the game that is not in the hands of luck and you can win with your knowledge and tactics, so I think the number of players will continue to grow, not drastically, but if slowly, even, I started playing poker for an influencer hahaha

I definitely think that poker has a lot of growth potential. But again, this growth depends on the global economic situation in the world. Economic difficulties force people to spend less and work harder, so in such conditions, the growth of online games such as poker, if it can be, will be quite limited.

Poker is a magnet for those who love competition. That's why there are many former cyber sportsmen and chess players among poker professionals.Poker players do not produce anything, they simply exchange money in poker rooms. Today you win, tomorrow you lose. For most players this is not so important, but for some it is. And then the question of whether it is worth playing poker becomes relevant. The overall level of play has increased dramatically over the last 10 years, so making money in poker is no longer as easy. There is an opinion that it is too late to start in poker. Since even to beat the low limits, you have to put in a disproportionate amount of work. But this is a debatable argument.

Its nowhere near what was going on during the boom and never will be the same because of Black Friday and other countries have also put more restrictions on poker. You would need all thise walls to come back down and setup some type of watch group then allow people from all over the world to play together, again.

Poker isn't as accessible to folks like during the boom. It was everywhere,

Espn was broadcasting that stuff rentlessly then you had other networks with those realities shows.

And if you didnt own a TV (lol) you could watch crazy nose bleed (not pro level games but) elite games especially on Full Tilt every evening where players were literally playing hands for the price of a house in the US every few hands. So poker was everywhere, now it seems like you have to look for it.

I'm not a fan of using WSOP numbers but if Black Friday never happened or reversed and poker was promoted like during the boom then I wouldnt be surprised all of those numbers doubled.

And live, I used play at one of the biggest poker rooms in the US.

I used to play marathon sessions in my casino friday - sunday evening. I could start at friday afternoon go all night into Saturday morning with the casino folks cleaning up the floor with the vacuums going on the floor etc.

Go get some sleep when the sun is coming up or grind with the old folks coming in to grind low limit stud or stud 8 as I waited for the kids with the sunglasses to come in around 12 noon. Then do the same saturday into sunday!

I really don't play anymore but when I look at poker rooms hours across the US online and see they don't go 24 hours during the weekends, the demand isn't there well at least in the US from what I see.

The old folks are gone and so are the low limit variants. You can get a limit holdem game but not stud or stud 8.

But I'm so happy that more folks are experiencing poker growing in their countries today. Its just not the same for a lot of folks. It peaked over 10 years ago lol.

In my opinion, poker will never die out, and will only get better and better over time. Perhaps in the future there will be changes in the disciplines themselves.

Without a doubt, poker will evolve from year to year, new players will come, and with them new ideas and strategies will appear, progress is inevitable.

I think there are periods of decline and periods of growth. Right now, poker is probably in a period of decline. But it's quite possible that in the coming years a period of growth will begin, I think it's realistic.
.... unless of course another world war starts, because of the idiots who still don't know that Trump is the president of the United States.

I think the next step for poker is the inclusion of it in the Olympic Games in the future. I don't think poker has reached its peak because too many people think of poker as gambling. This is a misconception! I would like to see more advertising of poker in social media.

Poker has been growing for many years and will continue to grow. My opinion is that it will never reach its peak.

I expect without Federal Regulation in the USA that it will continue to decline.

If poker was regulated I think we would see a 2nd boom.

Poker will continue to grow but I dont know if it will ever explode like the moneymaker affect gain. Looking at the live game here its dead and we have some really large poker rooms. I do have some inside info and one issue is getting dealers but I dont believe the casinos want poker back like it was. If poker is ever allowed online again it will be the best for the game. Vegas will do OK but I dont believe it will be live again like it was at least here in the north east USA

I believe poker has seen its heyday, just as investing has seen its heyday. The days of easy money in poker is over just as making easy money in stocks is not as easy as the old days.

This is a good topic... I think poker has reached the top level. I can't imagine how I can improve the game.

There is definitely still a lot of room to grow. I still think that access and promotion to the game is limited.
