Currently, I see it as a hobby, although it has helped me earn some extra money. I hope to dedicate myself to it full-time in the future.

There's no doubt that poker is currently a hobby for me, and it's unlikely to change in the future.

It's a hobby right now and I hope to stay at that level.

Hobby/lifestyle/pastime or vice perhaps? I like playing and even when I get frustrated with lengthy downswings I keep coming back. I may make a little money but that's not my goal. If it were I'd stick to cash games since you can follow a formula and be pretty much assured of making money consistently. But I don't. I play mostly tournaments, mostly through Cardschat. I have some luck with these, at least enough to keep me happy. I'm giving League another try this season. It's a different kind of mentality since you're not just playing for yourself. :)

I think poker became a part of my life after registering on this forum. Before that moment poker was my hobby that didn't bring much money. Yes, I had achievements earlier, but it was sporadic and I was a player who depended a lot on luck. :poop:

Do You See Poker as a Hobby or a Lifestyle?

For me, poker started as a casual hobby—just a couple of games a week with friends, some laughs, and, well… a few more losses than wins 😅. But over time, it became more serious. I started watching videos, analyzing hands, and using words like “range” and “equity” like a pro!

So I’m curious—
Is poker just an occasional fun thing for you?
Or has it become part of your routine, maybe even a lifestyle?

Some players treat poker like going to the gym: discipline, training, and sometimes a little pain (especially for the bankroll 😅).
Others just play when they’re bored or free.

So what about you—weekend warrior or full-time grinder at heart? Can a card game really become a way of life? 🎲
We would all like to make a living from poker, but to do so we have to ask ourselves if we are up to the task, if we have the level, if we are really good, and also study. For now, I see it as a hobby.

If we go deeper, the answer to that would have to be measured in some way. I would note the tournaments won or final tables or tables that I reached cash in and now an evaluation based on that. Greetings from argentina.

It's a game I like to play systematically and not occasionally, which means it is a serious game, where you can play and have fun with friends from all over the world. So it is a hobby but a serious one.

Poker is just a hobby for me, but it’s nice when it brings in a little something too — fun and useful at the same time.

I enjoy poker a lot and I also enjoy watching poker content, but it is just a hobby for me. I would need to win significantly more for it to become more serious for me.

For me, poker is definitely a hobby — I play because I genuinely enjoy the game, the strategy, and the mental challenge it brings.
Earning some money along the way is always a nice bonus. I don't rely on it as a source of income, but if I can mix fun with a bit of profit, that's the best of both worlds!

if it becomes a lifestyle it consumes you and dictates your emotions, i think it’s much healthier to keep it as a hobby

For me poker is a hobby, I like to play it in the evenings after studying or when I'm not doing anything, the truth is that nowadays I don't have many ways of spending time that are pleasant for me, cards are my biggest vice for now, and since poker is individual I don't necessarily need anyone to play by my side

I take it seriously as the most fun hobby ever.
And I take it seriously when I'm in the game.
Good luck.

For me, poker is about money. I play poker because it's an opportunity to make money. Of course, poker is great fun, but the main advantage of this entertainment for me is the opportunity to have fun and earn money at the same time.

Hobby but can change over time, as I get better with handling games within a day's poker agenda.
