Does anyone use astrology to determine when you should play your larger tournaments? Any stories or anecdotal evidence in support or against its validity?

Hmm?? Maybe I should look into this! No. I have enough on my plate, making my decisions with 3 bets and check raises, if I had to consult the stars to figure out when I can play I just might go a little bit more crazy than I am now.

I would like to meet an astrologer and talk to him. Perhaps all the problems are not from the RNG but from the stars :)

Kind of the same thing. Both have no sentience, no answers, no consequences to fear. Both are dead.

I don't believe in astrology, and I don't believe that astrology can help you become a successful player. It all depends on you and your patience, but not on the stars or planets.

This is easy. Because I do not care about astrology it never crossed my mind to deal with it.

Flipping a coin will give you a 50/50 result....so just do that, and save a whack of time.

Or....you can play using proper strategy, and knowledge of the game.

Horoscopes, astrology, fortune tellers etc... I wouldn't make any decisions on anything to do with life based on whatever these sorts of things say, let alone playing poker.

What difference does it make if Jupiter is lining up with Neptune and the Moon is full? I believe it to be all a load of hogwash personally, but hey, what do I know?

Hmmm, if astrology can predict potential life events and trends by gaining insights into your birth chart...I don't see why not classify "luck" in poker as some lucky days to play big events... ;)

I think it would be strange to believe in things that you can't prove the impact of. You can form certain rituals or superstitions for yourself and think that they help you, it's a personal matter. I am realistic, I believe in my skills, experience and patience, and I just hope that luck will be on my side. Rituals, amulets and superstitions are all just nonsense to me :)

All means are good for victory, maybe astrology will help someone. Good luck.

Don't use any astrology in my day to day life. Not even sure how to begin to apply that to poker?

Living life only based on a horoscope is pointless and a waste of time. At one time I also read them on a daily basis, but already in the first week I realized that someone had put together meaningless sentences that just didn't come true. So I think it's pointless to waste your life on this. I don't think there is a separate astrology for poker.

I think that a very special day in astrology for a certain person can be a special day for them to do what they like or want and the universe can conspire in their favor! But depending on astrology to enter poker tournaments believing you have chip immunity, I don't think that thought is plausible 💫

I have never used anything to determine when I play Poker or not, except my own Gut feelings. I do have days where I just cannot be bothered and nothing I do will change that, I am either in the mood or not in the mood, If I am not feeling well or just not interested in Playing, I don't Play, It's that simple.
I am not addicted to playing and can take it or leave it. As for Astrology or Crystal Ball Mumbo Jumbo, The only way I play well is when I am in the right frame of mind and I use my own ability to play well. I leave all the 4 leaf clover, and rabbits foot Hokus Pokus stuff to all the self doubters.

Hi :)
I've never heard of anyone using astrology to play poker or to create their game schedule. But people are different and there are probably some people for whom astrological readings do matter and influence their game. I think if you believe in such things and if it helps you to achieve better results, then there is nothing wrong or strange in it :)

I don't believe that the stars can help or harm me. I just like to look at them sometimes.

I wouldn't trust horoscopes with my money!!! It's better to pay more attention to your physical and psychological state before the game than to the horoscope!!! I think it will be much more reliable than the horoscope!!!

I don't want to sound rude, but if you think that constellations and beliefs from about 2500 years ago could have any kind of influence on the tournament, I think you might run into problems. But well, that's just my opinion.

I don't use astrology to play, I'm used to relying more on my skills, experience and real facts and circumstances. I don't rely on stars or other planets :)

I don't believe in that, but I can understand that some people do because it's easier to say you lost because the stars weren't right than to admit you just played badly. But of course if someone feels better playing by their horoscope and then succeeds they should just do that because poker is also about being balanced and feeling positive.
I understand your perspective. It's true that attributing outcomes to external factors like horoscopes can sometimes be a way for people to avoid confronting their own performance. However, as you mentioned, if believing in horoscopes or other rituals helps someone feel more balanced and positive, and ultimately improves their game, then it's a beneficial practice for them.
