In many cities around the world, casinos have been seen by some as a positive thing; but others highlight their negative aspects.
Do you support their construction in your city, or would you oppose it?

There are already a bunch where I live and I don't really go to them. If I could get the one back that was 6 blocks from my house that had daily poker tourneys and great food- I would like that.

Here in my city, some have disappeared; but you know the situation in my country; it's been widely discussed. While some disappear, others are created. Contradictory things happen here.

I'm afraid to be biased a bit since I like to play poker, but I would love to see a casino in my city.
Here, there are casinos only in 4 cities. The ones I like to go to (Marrakech) are about 4 hours and 50 minutes' drive.

If a poker room is considered a casino, then there is one in my hometown. But now I'm in the capital, and there are a lot of small casinos, but I'll never go there again. As for whether it brings anything to the city, I'm at a loss. Maybe in Los Angeles, it's considered a tourist attraction.

We have a small casino here. I do not frequent it very much. Just once in a while, mostly spend my time playing online.

It would be enough for me if I could go to Vegas and experience what it's like to play in a casino. Even if a casino were built in my city, I think only Vegas could provide the real experience.

Knowing how it's turned out in my province(which has an international port) I'd personally oppose it. Casino attracts the worst kinda of trash, criminals and organized crime. Which completely turns off the rest of the population in the long term. For the first 3-5 years of the casino's existence thou it was ok to good.

I live only about 15 mins from our casino here.......haven't played poker or been there in 5+ years now. I'd rather play online where it's at least 10x harder to be a winner then go play at my local casino where it's easy money but you play with trash and the worst the human race has to offer.

Cheers!!!

We used to have casinos, but over time, they were all banned and moved to special gaming zones. So, I can get to one zone by the warm sea in 22 hours or 3 hours ⏰️, and I need to go to another zone near the not very warm sea in a week or 9 hours by plane ✈️. So I think it might be nice to build a casino 🎰 somewhere nearby, but it can be extremely dangerous:)

I would definitely support such projects. But I am a gambler, which means I am biased. Many people consider gambling to be something bad, something that can lead to big problems. And this is true, if abused, gambling can lead to problems, just like alcohol. But I don't think people will refuse to build distilleries.

Casinos generate revenue for the community. Casinos create jobs, generate tax revenue, and contribute to tourism infrastructure. I would definitely support the development of this sector, and the more, the better.

In Brazil, we don’t have legal casinos, and that definitely changes the way poker develops here. Most of the action happens in poker clubs or private events, which means the scale and exposure are much smaller compared to places where casinos operate legally. A casino in a big city could create a completely different environment for players, with more structured tournaments, better facilities, and even more recognition of poker as a mind sport.

Of course, it would also bring the same debates we see elsewhere, like gambling addiction and regulation, but for poker specifically, I think the impact would be mostly positive. It could attract international events, boost tourism, and give local players more opportunities without having to travel abroad.

So from my perspective, if casinos were allowed here, it would probably be a huge step forward for the poker community in Brazil.

I object, gambling is an addiction that ends the lives of many people. Soccer bets are already wreaking havoc on Brazilians' lives.

Yes, I think that the more casinos would be built, the better it would be. First of all, casinos are a luxury, and secondly, each person decides for themselves whether to play in a casino or not. I would go to a casino to play at poker and, maybe, sometimes roulette or blackjack. :sneaky:

At one point our "city fathers" had delusions of grandeur about this subject and plans for hotels and casino, etc. were made. Luckily they didn't come true. Still they managed to burn millions in the process when they decided to build an arena to the same place. That arena is not making profit even years later.
