Well, apparently, 7 is considered a lucky number in most cultures and has been throughout history.

A few reasons why:

  • 7 continents in the world
  • 7 seas on the planet
  • 7 days in the week
  • 7 planets in our solar system
  • 7 colors in a rainbow
  • 7 wonders of the ancient world
The number 7 first became prominent in casinos back in the 1950s when it was a highly anticipated number in blackjack where three 7’s would give the player a count of 21, with there still being a few Blackjack table games today that pay a bonus if you draw 21 with three 7’s.

It wasn’t long after this that the triple lucky 7’s started being used in slot machines.

As you've already written, the number 7 is a culturally and religiously significant number.
I can also well imagine that the symbolism of the 'Trible 7' was intended to counteract possible influence from the church—a "demonization of gambling"—and the obvious association with the devil (666):devilish:.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the religious influence too. In the Abrahamic religions, apparently God created the Universe in 7 days ;):ROFLMAO:.

People often think 7 is lucky and that the number 13 is unlucky; however, in Chinese Culture, 13 is considered lucky. A lot of bad luck is associated with the number 13, as the Templars were attacked by Philip IV of france on Friday, 13th October. Another reason that Friday the 13th is considered unlucky.

I like the number 7, as it was my 1st door number I can remember.

Pluto is no longer considered a planet, see Rick and Morty S1 Ep 9. ;):ROFLMAO:
Due to a new definition of the planet class on 24th August 2006 it is a dwarf planet.
still, even that leaves 8 planets left, where did the 7 planet idea come from? the old sun, moon, etc approach? I doubt there were slot machines out there back then
