We call ludopathy with a word "ludomania" here. It's an addiction similar to a dependency on narcotic drugs.
However cheap dopamine (a chemical found in the brain that acts as a neurotransmitter and is an intermediate compound in the synthesis of noradrenaline) is achievable nowadays with Youtube shorts, Tiktok, video games. Which are less harmful, but still not great.

I've heard the term “ludomania.” Well, whatever it's called, the important thing is to detect it as soon as possible and escape the addiction, just knowing where the fun ends and the addiction begins (it sounds easy, but it's not!). Good luck!

What is ludopathy?
A term I recently learned.
According to Wikipedia:
"Problem gambling, also known as pathological gambling, gambling disorder, or ludomania, is repetitive gambling behavior despite damage and negative consequences. Problem gambling can be diagnosed as a mental disorder according to the DSM-5 if certain diagnostic criteria are met. Pathological gambling is a common disorder associated with social and family costs."
I think any kind of addiction leads to serious problems, but if you know how to stop (something that many don't know) and can afford possible losses, it's okay.
Fun should exist when it's not a burden on you and your family.
Those who cannot control their emotions must pay for it. People who cannot control themselves should not gamble. And if they do not understand this, or understand it but gamble anyway, then they quite rightly get what they deserve.

It's not easy. Addictions are illnesses, and it's not just the addict who pays the price, but everyone around them, their family, friends, everyone. So thinking about some kind of “payment” or “punishment” would be a bit simplistic. Instead, I think it would be better to think of them as people who urgently need help! Taking the “ ludopata,” gambling addict, or compulsive gambler to receive psychological/psychiatric help seems like the best thing to do, don’t you think?

Those who cannot control their emotions must pay for it. People who cannot control themselves should not gamble. And if they do not understand this, or understand it but gamble anyway, then they quite rightly get what they deserve.

Hmm not sure if we can really say they get what they deserve. Gambling can be sneaky to some people and not everyone is in a good mental state of has supportive people around.

There is only one correct step that players with addiction can take. Seek professional help. In 99% of cases, addicted players are simply unable to cope with this problem on their own. Those who recognise their problem have a chance to change.

That's true!
Accepting the condition is the hard part!
Good luck!

Casino games like slot machines and roulette are prone to addiction; when a person with a gambling disorder
gambling activates the brain's reward system, generating a feeling of euphoria similar to that caused by some drugs.
At that point, we can say that the person is sick and needs help.
