Does gambling affect your health?
And in your personal case, how do you assess this impact, if there is any? Is it more positive or negative?
Personally, I assess this impact as positive.
A few years ago, I had a heart attack, and now most of the entertainment I used to enjoy is unavailable to me. But gambling is not on that list. In my opinion, gambling allows me to relieve stress and tension, lifts my mood and generally brings positivity and joy into my life. But I must say that these positive factors are primarily due to the fact that over the last few years I have become a very disciplined player. In recent years, I have never exceeded my own limits, always played according to bankroll management and spent only the money I planned to spend on gambling.

A lot of illnesses come from stress and emotional strain — not just in poker, but in any job or activity. Where there’s stress, there are usually health issues: high blood pressure, heart problems, headaches, and more. That’s why learning to control your emotions is essential. It’s not easy, but for the sake of your health, you have to. If you can’t do that, it’s better not to play at all — because health always comes first.

Sitting all day is not really good for your health.

For some the stress is an issue.

I think gambling has less negative impact the better shape you are in.

I try to walk outside every day for at least 1-2 hours. And I have to say that I definitely don't feel any negative effects, even though I play poker for an average of 3-5 hours a day. I rarely play at online casinos, so there are no negative effects there either.

Gambling in general has a bad reputation in regard to its impact on the player's health.

But nowadays, poker players for example, take their activity very seriously. They sleep well, eat healthy and exercise.
According to what you said, you're doing the right thing, especially when it comes to the BR management. It's when a player goes broke that everything goes south, starting with stress. Then stress starts affecting all aspects of one's health, mental and physical alike.

Gambling has a very bad effect on my health. Although if I win it's all good. If I lose a lot, then I don't sleep well, I don't want anything, I'm depressed. If I lose too much, I want to die. I would like to eliminate gambling from my life, but I can't yet.

That doesn't sound very good my friend. Did you ever think of getting any external help? Did you talk with friends and family about this Problem?

Звучит не очень хорошо, друг мой. Ты когда-нибудь думал о том, чтобы обратиться за помощью? Ты обсуждал эту проблему с друзьями и семьей?
Things are more or less normal now. Sometimes there are breakdowns, but very rarely. Maybe I'll completely get rid of this addiction in time. I don't play poker here as fast as you drain money as in slots.

There is no impact to normal people . To people who know how much to play so as to keep the fun of the game . But if sb wants desperately a miracle win , jackpot , upswing or whatever , yeah , the disappointments and the losses might harm his health .

A lot of the emotional stress goes away if you're disciplined enough to work out a realistic bankroll that you can afford to lose and then bet a percentage of that per buy-in. For me it's 1%.
If your bankroll vanishes, you then work hard elsewhere in life to reach the point where you can set aside a new bankroll, then proceed as before.
If you don't have that discipline, gambling is not the hobby for you.
