I have seen people putting everything they have left in one bet. Mostly in blackjack since I don't play anything else (Besides poker).
Sometimes because they're only having fun, but sometimes out of frustration. I'm sure it happens in roulette too, but I've only seen that in movies 🤪.

Have you ever done it or seen someone doing it next to you? What are some other reasons that could make people do it?

No. I think that people (so am I frankly) are just lazy . They want to achieve results as soon as possible with minimal efforts :)

Yeah that too. The quick win is so tempting ;).

Look at this guy:

I knew a guy who would put whatever chips he had in on his last blackjack hand, didnt matter if he had $5 or $500 - he just liked the thrill of having all his chips in.

The weird part was whether he won or lost it didnt seem to matter to him.

I guess that's why he put all his chips in one bet to begin with, he probably didn't care at all.

I think the reason behind putting all in one bet is that they want a big win instantly instead of grinding for hours.

In poker it may be because of downswings, when you notice you havent been doing well you may go all in thinking you will get lucky to get back to the game.

The other reason, once you win 7 times in a row, you may think of increasing the bet, or just go all in thinking you will double your money.

Excitement is a terrible thing...)
I never thought of it that way, but you're so right, excitement could be a "terrible" thing indeed. Once excited, even in a joyful situation, one could do anything.

Why exactly "7 times"? Now I know you're superstitious :ROFLMAO:. 7 is a lucky number, isn't it? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

I can only think of frustration due to a great downswings , a great loss of money . It is the desire to win back the lost money , but unfortunately you end losing more money or all your bankroll . It's very easy this to happen on casino games , very easy to change limits of bets in an instant . So losses at casino games can be bigger than poker for example

Almost everytime that happened to me , I also ended losing all money . I like restraining myself to small bets , never bet big money for miracle wins .

Ah, you got me 😆 I actually used 7 because of your thread about why slots love that number! Seems like I’ve been subconsciously influenced by casino superstition 😂

Guess you right. After all sometimes using minimum effort will give you back more than just minimum results ...

I think people go wild in casinos because of the thrill. There is a very good movie called "Two for the Money", where one of the main characters, played by Al Pacino, says that emotions drive people when they bet large amounts of money. Here is part of his monologue: “Even if we win, it’s only a matter of time before we lose it all.”

I have never done that and probably never will. But if I have just one coin (say 50 cent) in my pocket after shopping, and put that in a slot machine (since we have those inside stores) does that count as putting it all on one bet?

I would say no. The amount is not that substantial, and you weren't gambling.

But Slots in stores? In finland?
Are you talking about most stores? And are they legally operated or controlled by some mafia?

Yup! In grocery store lobbies for easy access when you are entering or leaving the store. There is often even an ATM near by for easy access. And not just stores. Gas stations and some kiosks have them too. All with the blessing of our government.
Here's couple of pic links: https://www.ts.fi/static/content/pic_5_6373474_k292842_1200.jpg

Holy s*hit man!!! Right there in the open, and people play them too; they don't even provide chairs!
That appears bizarre to me.
Here, the only machines you can find are only in casinos, though we have every kind and form of gambling everywhere else.

Bizarre to foreigners perhaps, but very normal and familiar to us :ROFLMAO: Although, all the times that I have spoken with a tourist in the past, people do find strange some things in our country but I don't recall anyone mentioning these.

I did this several times when I was in an overly emotional state. And almost always it led to bitter disappointment. Because only those players who approach gambling with pragmatism and clear calculation can play and make a profit.

Frustration, greed, the immediate recovery of previously lost money, possibly the influence of alcohol or drugs.

I've only seen this in movies, and because I've never been to a casino, then maybe I would have had the opportunity to see such situations, or maybe I would have been so tempted myself.

You're the only (1st) one here to admit having done such a thing.
I hope you have left those days behind.
