Sounds like a fun trip, even with the ups and downs! 😄
Buffalo Ascension sounds interesting — I’ll have to check it out next time I’m at a casino.

I feel your pain about forgetting to put the card in... happened to me once and I still think about those lost points! 😅

Good luck on your cruise! Hope the blackjack tables treat you better than the slots. Looking forward to your update!

And I am off to the casino! It takes an hour and 45 min to get there, so since I HATE to drive I am staying overnight, That will break up the driving into 2 days. My room and valet service are both free since I am diamond and I will likely leave first thing in the morning.

Will post a pic of my gift later!

I am late with my follow-up but I had a great time on my trip! I did really well before dinner and then took a break to have a burger at Nathan's. It was delicious but I am super excited about the new sports bar that is opening before my next trip. Currently my only food choices are the tiny food court or Gordon Ramseys which pretty much has nothing on the menu I would order and is way too expensive.

After dinner I lost all that I had and a bit more lol. But I found some new slots that I like to play so that was a win for me. I will take a picture of them on my next trip.

The most fun thing was that my gift ended up being something I actually needed! I have so many pots and pans - but had no pots this size. Mine are smaller or larger - and this size will come in handy. I get very excited about free things lol.

Oh - and after the 10x tier credits hit my account I am guaranteed diamond status next year once my 5000 credit card bonus is added to my account. I don't know if I will get Diamond Plus again - but they just announced another 10x multiplier at the end of Sept - so you know I won't miss that lol.

My next trip with be on Aug 29th and I am very excited about it! My best friend Mel will be here from Texas to go with me. We won't stay overnight but she will drive. There is a 5x tier credit multipier too!

I do not get why some consider slot machines fun, or even how they can be addictive.
For a child I can see that it might be fun for an hour or so , like every new toy .

I guess 3 card Monty wouldn't exist either if not for suckers being drawn in.

Why not go to play where your friend lives?

Perhaps Debi Does Dallas someday ;)
We plan on going to Texas next summer to visit, meanwhile we will be meeting them in Vegas in December.
Today you think you are profitable at the casinos since the beginning?
Heck no lol.

I am not sure if you just called me a sucker or not :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This is how I look at it. I do enjoy playing and I love the thrill of winning. gambling kind of runs in my family. I learned responsible gambling very early on. The first time I went to a casino I took the amount of money I was willing to spend - and then wrote a check for more money when I ran out. I NEVER did that again because I felt the loss of that money more than I should have.

I now take what I am willing to lose and I have very low expectations of returning home with any of it. I consider it entertainment expense and it falls within my budget to be able to do it.

I don't get why people spend money on a lot of things - drinking alcohol, collecting trading cards (very expensive habit!), super expensive meals in restaurants, attending sporting events/concerts that cost hundreds of dollars per person, etc. I could go on forever.

But they enjoy it enough to do it and their discretionary income is theirs to spend in a way that is fun to them. I do the same thing in casinos. :)

Thanks for that, sorry no disrespect intended. We all have our human indulgences.

And speaking on the more harsh aspects of all serious addictions, it is hard to comprehend them from the outside.

You might wanna learn the, shall we say, "historical" reference of what I said ;) especially if you end up there someday.

Ohhhhhhh, lookie here, a potential CC meetup location! We could totally do up the DDD theme! Or Debi Does TCH!

I live about 2 hours from Dallas and RibbyBruno is somewhere in East Texas, and we have at least one member in Oklahoma. 🤠

Change of plans - Vegas is off and Dallas is in. But the only way I could meet up with any of you is if you meet me in the casino the day we go. We will be going in November but I don't have the exact dates yet.

My friend Mel was here last weekend and we went to the casino on Friday. It was nice to go with her again - much better than going by myself!

I found a new favorite slot machine which you can see below. Overall, did okay for a change!

But - a new grill had opened and we ate lunch there. I got a smash burger but removed 1 of the 2 patties and only ate about 2/3 of it. Thankfully - because I think I got food poisoning from it. Was sick all weekend and yesterday was so bad I went to urgent care. Hopefully the test results will be back tomorrow, and I will know for sure what it is.

Good recovery to you Debi. Was the burger cooked well or still a bit red on the inside? Awfull, especially with the fact of high food prizes in Vegas.

It was a smash burger so well done - but we can't determine anything else it could have been. I had nachos Friday night which I shared with Joe and he had zero issues so hard to think it could have been those. Symptoms started on Saturday before I ate anything that day. I had rice on Thurs night so we can rule that out. I don't eat much so it is easy to drill it down.

It could be a stomach virus - but that is almost ruled out since this has lasted so long. (Still sick today but way better than yesterday).

Had to actually google what a "smash burger"is but then i realized i ate this before.

When they grill the neat that quick its still possible that there are raw parts on the very inside but could be also that the meat was simply no more good and they did not realize it or thought when they grill it very hot its still useable or no one would recognize it that it was no more good or a bit on the border.

I have 2 updates for you!

We went on a cruise and these are my favorite casino trips because Joe and I play a lot of blackjack together. We only play $10 a hand which is better than the 15-25 you find in land casinos.

We had a blast playing! We had $300 in freeplay - both of us ended up about break even or slightly up after 5 days.

And you know me - I threw some money in a few slots and played in a slot tournament. I lost money on slots but not much.

Then on Sunday I had my monthly trip to Harrah's. I played the same slot machine I discovered last month and for the first time in months I left the casino with a profit - whew!

Amazing trip report and thanks for sharing Debi! I wish I could play at the Harrah's Casino one day as I heard a lot about this place already.

My next trip will be at the end of this month to Harrah's river Valley, followed by my monthly trips in Nov and Dec.

We will be going to Paradise Island in Atlantis in January with our friends! This is a reward from being Diamond Plus with Caesar's. We get a free room for 5 nights and are paying $100 a night each for 2 extra nights. It is a great deal which I have never taken advantage of.

We are required to play for 4 hours during the entire trip - that should not be a problem lol. We plan on having lots of pool days and some nice dinners too.
