What a great adventure! Thank you for sharing it! Although I must say, a $240 steak? Do you bring the cows from Dubai? Haha

Our friends are quite boujee tbh - they think nothing of it but it does my head in lol. But we only have a meal like that a couple of times a year so I grin and bear it. It was delicious though.

I like the sides better than the steak. They come in sharing sizes. We ordered too many and couldn't eat it all. My favs were my baked potato (didn't even eat half), the brussel sprouts and the sweet potato casserole. The bread was yummy too!

I still have not been to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. :(

Including tip Joe and I had a $240 steak dinner
This seems to be the highlight of your trip for all of us, but that's how I reacted too.
giphy.gif

God, that's more than a quarter of our regular salary-I'd choke!😆
Did you find an impressive gold bar inside the steak?😂

Pedimos demasiadas y no pudimos comerlas todas.
Oh, okay, I understand. Anyway, you have to treat yourself; it's just a matter of money. I also prefer side dishes to meat. For $240 though, I hope the steak will at least give me superpowers.

Omg - it is sooo good!
At $240 for a steak I wouldn't know whether to eat it or frame it lol
lol

Hey now - I would never pay $240 for a steak either. I better break this down lol.

This was our meal and it was for both of us:

Filet Mignon
Ribeye
Sweet potato casserole (enough for all 4 people)
brussels sprouts (enough for all 4 people)
baked potato
1 large glass of wine for Joe (this was $22!)
1 coke zero

The total for the meal was just under $200. A slightly over 20% tip was $40. We got the $100 discount from Caesars so we paid $140. We wouldn't have eaten here if it weren't for that.

I don't know about where you guys live, but those 2 steaks combined would easily cost about $50 if not more in any grocery store near here.

The last time we ate a meal that cost this much was in Maui about 5 years ago. So it is rare for us to do this. Our friend's meal was over $300 - it was their anniversary, but we have never spent that much on a meal. Our anniversary dinner in Aruba last Oct was about $120.

You can't even eat a steak dinner on the strip in Vegas for what this cost. Even at Ruth Chris in Vegas it would have been about $50 more. Same restaurant, same meal.

Dios mío... ¡es taaaan bueno!

jajaja

Mismo restaurante, misma comida.
Wow! I'm surprised by the price of meat: $50 at the supermarket, those steaks. Here in argentina, with that amount of money, we can make a barbecue for several people, and the meat we have here is very good. Imagine that a kilo of tenderloin, which is the most tender you can get, costs about $15. Anyway, your friend's birthday, of course, was his birthday, and you only live once in your life.:)

¡Guau!
I meant anniversary. Damn translator.

You'll definitely fall in love with a good barbecue here in Argentina. We can also add vegetables to the grill; there is something for everyone:)

I can only play craps when someone I am with really understands the game. I would love to learn it so I can play on my own sometimes. We are going on a cruise in Sept so I might try to learn then.

You might find a play money craps game useful.

While the win-rate may not be realistic....

It should allow you to become familiar with all the bets on the mat.

The mechanics matter in craps.

Not that I know how to play it well....

I made my monthly trip on Saturday after 5 nights on the beach in Destin, Florida. (The beach there is beautiful with amazing soft, white sand).

There was a 5x tier multiplier - we try to hit those as often as we can to maintain our Diamond/Diamond Plus status with Caesars. I really have to be conscious of it this year since without my 2 poker trips I will have a lot less time in casinos overall.

I hope I got a lot of tier credits - because I couldn't win on any machine this time. I played my favorite before lunch and was about $100 up - but lost that and some after lunch.

This is the Thunder Drums machine:

I did get enough tier credits to earn my first free night at Caesars in Vegas. Once we get to 3 free nights we play on going to Vegas for about 4 nights. (the extra night we pay for is usually very cheap and we don't have to pay resort fees).

By we I mean me and my friend Mel. She is moving to Texas at the end of this month, so we have planned our final trip together to Harrah's Valley river on May 17th. :(

I will have to play a bit conservatively this trip since I didn't do well on the last one.

Omg - I have missed updating for the past 2 months!

My May trip with Mel was fun and I ended up about $200 so that was fun.

In June I decided that I would do an overnight since I am now going alone. It was really nice not having to drive back home the same day - I hate to drive lol.

I didn't arrive until around 4pm and decided I would play loads of random slots this time. I was about break even by the end of the night.

Since I was there longer and there was no tier multiplier I decided to play some blackjack. I always play the $15 tables which are the cheapest - plus they have the Trilux option which make a 3 card poker hand out of your 2 cards and the dealers first card. I put $5 on that each hand. I hit 3 of a kind which got me back up by about $50. I played for a while, so I consider that a good win!

Here is a picture of a blackjack table with Trilux and the payouts:

I am doing another overnight stay this week on Wednesday! They have a whopping 10x tier credit multiplier so I will have to play 100% slots. They also have their monthly gift give way - this month we get a piece of Emeril Lagasse cookware. I hope it is something I can use. Last month I got a selfie ring light that I have no use for lol.

I will post an update this weekend!

Actually, now that I drink coffee I wouldn't mind one lol. I am so well stocked on great cookware I have a feeling whatever I get will become a gift to someone.
If it's his air fryer oven.... I know who you could send it to.... (and she would pay for shipping... ;) ;) ;) 😁 )
