I loved San Juan - will be happy to return there on the next cruise. Today is our final day at Bimini Beach which was fun last time - but I have stayed on the ship today because I only got a few hours sleep. Not sure why but was awake most of the night.
I could never recommend that anyone go to St Croix for a vacation - it is so desolate.
Today I will pack and nap when I can, then enjoy my final night in the casino playing blackjack. I am about even on blackjack and down approximately $200 on slots so I won't play anymore slots tonight.
Overall as far as gambling goes I feel like this has been really good. I have spent countless hours playing blackjack with Joe and have met some great people and dealers. I would gladly spend $200 anytime for the amount of entertainment and fun we have had in a week.
We will be putting down a deposit on our next cruise today because they offer additional discounts if you do that while on a cruise. We have 2 years to choose and take the next cruise.

Good luck to you Debi. I think blackjack is better, especially the live. Here in Morocco, its cost is a bit high, at least $10, for me, I think it is better as a live game compared to the slot machine.

I forgot to post an update on my last trip to Harrah's.
This time my friend lost her butt and I only lost $60 - sorry for her but was happy to play all day on a new fun machine and not lose much! I will post a pic of my new machine when we go back at the end of this month - I can't even think of the name of it.
Here is the funny thing. I play more often than she does because I go to Vegas twice a year. She asked if we wanted to go to Harrah's Cherokee one weekend and we said sure - that would be fun! So she picked a weekend and said the rooms were free for both nights for her. I went in to check the the rooms for me were over $400 a night! No thanks, we will take a hard pass on that lol.
Going back to Valley River at the end of the month - no gambling til then!

I went to Harrah's Valley River on Saturday - it is in Murphy. NC Tammy, which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes from here.
I had $200 invested and was up about $50 and we still had time left. Since I was up I went to my favorite machine which I will only play if I am up because I bet $1.50 on this one instead of .75. There are so many ways to win big that I have always felt if I ever did it would be on this machine - but your money goes fast at $1.50 a spin.
Not long after I started playing I hit the bonus. You spin a wheel to see what your bonus is - it is usually free games. It hit "Super plus bonus wheel" - I didn't even know what that was. It started paying out a win and when it got to $400 I asked the lady next to me what I had won - she said the Super bonus was over $900! I was so excited! Then it went to the bonus wheel and landed on 3x - making my win over $2700! And then I got the free games so it wasn't even done yet. After cashing out I spend the $65 waiting for my friend. This was my total win on that spin:

My husband plays golf which is not cheap so we agreed I can have a monthly casino budget since I love to play slots and blackjack. It is about $200-300 a month and I only go one time.
So it felt like right before xmas I got all of my 2024 budget back in my pocket!

We had a fun trip this past weekend! Our husbands joined us for this trip so that made it a lot more fun.
We started out at Harrah's Cherokee in Cherokee, NC on Thursday night. Both Mel and I have Diamond Plus status with Caesars Rewards and we get a $100 celebration dinner every year. We decided to use it at Ruth Chris. Including tip Joe and I had a $240 steak dinner which only cost us $140 so we started the trip with a big win! We rarely have these kinds of expensive meals to be honest - they are almost wasted on me. I enjoy the bread and veggies more than the steak and I would NEVER pay $22 for a glass of wine - or worse yet $85 for a bottle like our friends did. I just don't enjoy drinking enough to do that. But the meal was delicious and we had some nice leftovers later on Saturday.
Joe and I played a lot of blackjack and had a really good time. I was about $200 up when we went to bed. That included playing some slots too.
Friday morning the guys went to play golf and Mel and I hit the slots again. I did pretty good and ended up leaving Cherokee about $400 up.
We headed to Cherokee River Valley casino in Murphy for the rest of Friday. I had enough credits for free lunch in the food court so another win on food. (Dinner that night was nothing to brag about lol).
We played more blackjack and overall I lost a bit on Friday but not much. It was the next morning that finished me off so by the time we left I was down some for the trip - had lost all that I won in Cherokee lol.
Overall really had a good time though!
