i buy in for $150 bucks. so, always short stacked unless i push and hit early .

here's a trend: I'm calling & making $10 raises and calls with small pocket pairs 22 thru 88
and when they don't hit, I'm busting out in short order. A pro coach of mine says it ok to buy in for 75 BB, but I'm wondering if it is.

Its hard to not call or raise mid sized pocket pairs especially in late in position. commonly 2 or 3 callers, flop comes up 9- J- A. Bet of $15 and I'm forced to fold . it happens a lot.

What is a better way to approach this very common scenario given my circumstance. i think the only way is more aggressive raises and fold a lot of small pockets pairs.

thank you

More aggressive raises depend on a lot of factors, like the dynamic of the table, the stack sizes and especially the position.
In general, small and mid-pairs are good for set mining, seeing flops as cheap as possible, but give up if there's a bet, if you don't hit.

Stop raising those hands if you get 2-3 callers and then led into--just set mine.
Why do we raise?
1: to build pot to win a larger pot later. Are you winning enough pots without hitting? Seems like No- why raise?
2: to get fold equity - 2 to 3 callers- no fold equity. If we are set mining why not have more callers and a bigger pot for the least amount preflop?
3: to take control of pot post flop. If they are leading into you often and not checking to the raiser-why raise?

Table dynamics determine our actions. If our Villains do not allow us to do all 3 of the above raising becomes -EV with certain hand groups.

Open fold or limp behind with 22-55, when you are not deep enough to setmine.
