I'm starting to take poker more seriously and I started to write down all the hands I play in each session. I noticed that I win more or less between 20 and 30% of the hands I play.
How many hands do you play per session? And how many do they usually win?
Do they keep records or do they go more for sensations?

I don't record the game, because I don't have time to watch these videos later. But in general, I think I play no more than 15-20% of hands. How many of them I win, I think it's about 10-15%.

I play online and use a tracker to collect my hand histories. I dont care, how many hands, I win. The reference point for this will obviously also depend on, if you are playing heads-up, 6-max or 9-max, and in the two latter situations how often your tables have vacant seats and/or players sitting out. In cash games the important number is BB/100, and in tournaments its ROI. If you play professionally, you should focus on $/hour, since poker is then literally a job.

I am just embarking on my poker journey and will be taking it a lot more seriously over the coming months. I'm going to use PokerTracker 4 to keep my results and study. I need to find an effective study mode.

Hi!
Like you, I try to take poker very seriously.

Unfortunately, I don't keep any statistics, although there are days when I play from morning until night.
I know that analyzing my hands would significantly improve my game. Unfortunately, I don't have the discipline to go back and analyze my games.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to use PokerTracker, etc. I just play based on my intuition. I know many players use various software to increase their chances of winning. I know it helps, but I can't find the time to learn these poker aids.

If You just start You have to know that there are two types of games: CASH GAME and TURNAMENTS. I am turnament player. So, You ask about session... For example I play one turnament(Bounty Hunters Special 1,08$ buy-in, I play GG_Poker). There is 3500 players. The expected duration of such a tournament is approximately 7-9 hours. So if you're lucky, you might be able to play one or maybe two such tournaments a day. I only play at one table because I take a lot of notes.

I also play Spin&Go - So my statistics at GGPOKER are: 3500 played games and only 1000 wins so also 20%-30% wins. I don't earn because sometimes I try to play higher stakes and because of that I loose my bankroll and I must do next deposit.

I hope that soon my game will be better. I try to learn something about poker everyday - I just start watching and reading 30-days trainig course, prepared by CardsChat: https://www.cardschat.com/forum/learning-poker-57/cardschat-30-day-poker-training-course-455641/

I don't play cash games too much. As I know, playing cash games you need to pay attention to how much Big Blind you win per hour.

I'd like to learn how to use PokerTracker 4. I recently installed Power-Equilab. When I ran it while playing poker, I got a warning that I was using prohibited software. Regardless, I plan to learn how to use the poker software because I know it will take my game to the next level.
