I would approach playing it very cautiously because you never know which hand he might get in a given situation.

I would put MP player on a 45-55% of hands since you wrote he opens almost every time when the opportunity arises.

My range would be AXs, any pocket pair, suited broadway for a call, so let's say roughly 20% of hands. I would consider three-betting them with premium only - pocket pairs from QQ-AA but only consider it because with my three bet he could fold and I want to be in a position to trap them.

this player is playing position seemingly every single time, so im giving him a pretty weak range at this point being the 7th time in a row of him doing this, so id be willing to call him without being strong myself, probably as weak as suited connectors of like 7/8 to 9/10 for sure to at least see the flop. if i dont connect at all then likely i am dropping post flop if he bets big. if not, id continue. but i am for sure raising him pre flop with any pairs say above 4s or 5s for sure... and id even be raising with hands like kq suited or a10 or above as well, just to see where i stand. again, obviously reevaluating again post flop. but if i happen to wake up with a really strong hand pre flop, and i havent come along in any of the previous 6 times hes done this, i am definitely raising pre flop... attack aggression with aggression. but chances are, with a player like this, i wouldve come along at least one if not more times before to see a flop with him, with hands like i described above...

Most players say it depends on the player how often they raise and what position they are in. Personally, as a player I like to have fun and I don't consider poker as a way to make money but if they come from a good tournament I won't get mad at them so when I'm in the big blind I always try to defend it if I have at least a ten or a jack in my cards I will definitely raise it.

Vast majority of the time i would call in these spots and play post flop.

But due to said said players aggression i would also take the line of playing back at them on a higher frequency.

said players range and activeness is a big contributing factor into how i would act.

Recently in our CardsChat Learning Series, we covered off big blind defense - link to the article is here --> Big Blind Strategy in Poker: How to Defend Smarter and Lose Less

In that article we talked about how to approach being in the big blind and facing raises from various positions. So here's the question:

You are in the big blind and are facing a raise from middle position at a cash game table where everyone is 100 big blind + deep. Middle position you have characterized as an aggressive player that opens almost every time they have the opportunity to. Rarely does the highjack, cutoff, button, or small blind come along. This is the seventh orbit in a row that you are facing a raise from them in a row when they opened from middle position.

  • How would you approach playing this hand
  • What range are you putting on the middle position player
  • What range will you consider calling with
  • Will you consider three-betting them?
Explain your answer!
In general big blind is best position with any 2cards you can crack pocket AA ,and can be very profitable in a session.
