In this final hand of the day for me, in my local casino, I have
in the HJ. Two people before me limp, say UTG+1 and LJ, I don't remember exactly. I'd usually raise here but for not entirely rational reasons I make the weaker play and limp behind. SB completes and BB checks.
The board comes
(Pot=20).
PRETTY GOOD BOARD. It checks to me. You almost never want to slowplay in multiway pots, but this is an exception. I have the board murdered and anyone with two broadways is going to pay far more if they get a pair, while being very unlikely to outdraw me. So I check. Last two people check as well.
Turn is the
(Pot=20). This is actually the worst possible card because now I lose to the two of diamonds . LJ proclaims to have the two and bets 12.My hand is still decent but I can't really raise. I call. Everyone else folds.
River is the
(Pot=44). LJ informs me that he didn't have the two after all and bets 16. You could actually probably profitably min-raise this as a bluff but I was done with poker for the day and open-folded. LJ showed
which means we would have chopped. Both of us were playing the board.
What a great hand of poker!
