With the flush draw on the flop, I actually like a check raise.

I seriously doubt he's folding his overpair on that flop anyway, so you're probably losing a stack either way.

The only thing that would have changed would have been getting your money in with the best hand, which is a great habit to get into.

Check raise on the flop. He is not going to fold his over pairs or draws and we want value immediately. If you XR to around 25/30 bb then this sets you up perfectly for a jam on the turn.

Flop: Reraise here. Your hand needs protection, and you are getting paid by overpairs anyways. He could also have a set here or two pairs. His big sizing is always value here, so no reason to slow play it. If he has something like tens, jacks or queens and an overcard hits, then getting him all in by the river becomes manyfold harder.

Turn: Checking is fine, but once again you need to check raise. You want to get your money in, and by taking this line you make it very hard for you to get him all in by the river.

River: Sad, but you obviously can't fold here, ever. This hand would have played out the same way regardless, but next time please raise him on the flop. Keep grinding, and good luck at the tables :D

Awesome.. thanks!!! Started 20 years ago and played for right at 3 years and after the big ordeal with online gambling I stopped. Got in a few pick up games and a live tournament here and there, but nothing real serious. Now I'm getting back to my old habits and want to make some good money maybe. Still getting better every hand. Never stop learning.. thanks again for the insight..
