Here's an interesting hand I played at BetOnline where I faced a bet on the River with a wheel Str8. There's alot that beats me but the way the hand played out it's unlikely that any of them hit. My rivered wheel str8 is pretty hidden. What's the best play here? Do I just call or should I raise? If the latter, what sizing should I use? I chose to shove assuming his most likely holding was a Jack which he would never fold but should I have gont smaller to get called by an ace or even a 2 pair type hand like 35 A5 A3? Maybe those hands would also call the shove. It is .10nl after all.

I think Jx would have raised turn, leaving it unlikely that your river shove would target those. Perhaps a minraise wouldve elicited more calls from Jx, Ax type of hands, and if he reshoves after the minraise its an easy fold.

Nothing better preflop than getting to play any two cards and free, so thx the villain for it.
The flop comes semi-wet since the SB could have hearts, however calling is okay since we could still connect with our OESD.
On the turn Villain bets very little on a now paired board, which could be interpreted as a block bet.
So calling that size makes sense, as V could be inducing raises especially when he has the blockers of heart.
According to my reasoning the river is a texture that favors the V rank more than yours. As played, V represents the best hands in this texture: of course I'm talking about boats.
I think a bit about the size that the villain chose. What need do he have to overvalue his OTR hand? He probably wants to polarize his range so he can get wider calls.
I go back to the beginning and note that this V is limping and then aggressive on the river, when the more correct bet he made was the flop.
Based on how it was played I think would call but not raise, fundamentally because this board is not favorable for our range.
Greetings.

Your river raise is too ambitious. Villain has flushes and full houses and even stronger straight. Just call river overbet.

I am just calling or raising a normal size. When they do this min raise min raise then suddenly big river bet, they usually have something good.

I'm not really sure what you're repping.

But as played, raise the flop. Turn call is fine. River shove, not a bad spot for it. If you raise anything, he's going to fold the same range he would to a shove, so you want to get max value from Jx.
