Why does an add-on and rebuy don't compensate a min cash?

Some of the timee i follow that rebuy and add-on when both buy using tournament last prize if u got you dont cover your invest. So what we do for it? Only buy add-on or not buy anything. If not buy low chip hand buy and upper after add-on without playing good.

The money spend for chips already lost is a sunk cost and should not affect your decision to rebuy or add on. If that decision in itself is profitable, it does not matter, if min-cashing will still leave you in the red for the total tournament. In MTTs we dont play only to min-cash but also for a chance to reach the final table and ideally the top 3 spots, where the bulk of the money is usually paid out.

sometimes doubling downs works,but sometimes it doesn't. really depends on your luck too

I once did 10 rebuys in a row. Went all in each time and lost until my 10th time, doubled up and then won the whole tournament. Yes, the ultimate goal is to finish high or win. So the goal remains the same. My buys ins totalled $10. I won more than $300 at the end of the tournament, so it was the correct decision, even if that initial buy in spree looks desperate or a potential waste of money.

One thing to consider as well is if you think you can beat the field normally in this tournament to make another rebuy or not...

Then you have to analyze the field, if you beat the field easily and have good gameplay after the addon it is a very good strategy.
