Be aware that when registering for a tournament that doesn’t allow late registration, you may get locked out if you don’t register a few minutes early. When loading a site, it could download updates before you can login, possibly taking 5 minutes or more.
Registering with 1 minute to go could be futile.

As a proud WPToid I've learned to register early the hard way.

On Betplay I once registered an hour early, it gave me a confirmation I was registered. About half a minute later I get a frequent error about login, usually refreshing the browser and loging in again solves this but that time i closed the browser and went to do some errands. When I came back an hour later for the tournament about 2 or 3 minutes had started and I was already out of the tournament. Next time i won't assume that i'm either registered fine or that i'm still in the tournament (possibly having burned my timebank). Leaving things to chance is probably not a good idea.

i like to register very late on ACR in some freerolls, and on occasion i miss it due to the 'update ' time described above .

Reminds of something my dad use to say to me all the time when I was a kid. "If you're not 10-15 mins early, you're already late". Of course he was talking mostly about work. Some young punk kid who'll remain nameless was late quite a bit. I eventually learned the hard way to be on time. I like to start MTT's on time so I'm always 10-20 mins early. Sitting there enjoying my coffee waiting to start.
