I always struggle when I lose a big hand on the bubble — tilt kicks in and I start playing way worse than I should. Do you guys have any good ways to calm down and get your head back in the game when that happens?
A pause or a few slow breaths, inhaling through your nose for 4-6 counts, exhales in the same amount of time.
And always remember that in poker, like many things in our lives, we don't have control over everything.
So if something happens that isn't in your control, breathe and move on, because what happens against us sometimes happens in our favor.
Understanding and studying the nature of the game helps you become more aware of the game.
Because we often have to worry about making the most EV (positive
expected value) play rather than the outcome. In the long run, that's what matters, not the immediate results.
Just as keeping notes on the players can help with decision-making.
I hope I've contributed something...
