When stacks get short in tournaments, the game often turns into a push-fold battle. Many players struggle here because it feels like pure gambling, but in reality, it’s one of the most mathematical and skill-based parts of the game.

Understanding ranges is key. For example, shoving 10bb from the button with A7o can be profitable, but the same shove UTG may not be. On the other side, calling ranges are just as important — calling too tight can leave chips on the table, while calling too loose means donating stacks.

I’ve been working on improving my decisions in these spots, especially around 10–15bb stacks, and I’m curious:

How do you study push-fold ranges?

Do you use charts, solvers, or just experience?

What’s the biggest mistake you see recreational players make in this stage?

Looking forward to your insights!

You posted the exact same question yesterday. Why dont you wait for answers there instead of spamming the forum with repeated posts about the same topic?
When my stack gets short in tournaments, I often struggle with push-fold spots. Under 15bb it feels like there’s no room left to play postflop, so every hand is basically all-in or nothing.

I know charts exist for this, but it’s not always so simple – position, ICM, and how loose/tight the table is can completely change things. For example, sometimes I feel like I should shove wider when opponents fold too much, but other times I’m not sure if I’m being reckless.

Do you guys stick to push-fold charts, or do you mostly adjust based on the players around you?

If I had a good push fold chart for online poker , that would feel awesome . But I haven't found any chart to help me realistically , cause their proposing decisions tend in most cases not to be fruitfull . i tried some of them in the past. They were such a disappointment . I guess the best push fold chart you have to find out by your self , on your own .
