Hi. I managed to win a $250 ticket to the 888 Mystery Bounty. What I can't decide is whether to early reg or late reg so I've got a better chance of making it to the mystery bounty stage. What do you folks think ?

I don't know for 888 but usually when winning a ticket via a satellite, you get auto-registered and have to go from the start.

But since you are asking, I suppose this is not the case?

For me it would depend on the tournament structure. When late reg is very long like 2.5+ hours, I find it very tiring to play from the beginning and often chip up first to 1.5-2x starting stack only to end around starting stack or maybe slightly above towards the end of late reg. But maybe this is just my problem. 2.5-3 hours are simply too long to not make at least one major mistake. 😛😅

So I would tend to vote for late registration but just my personal opinion.

Registering in advance you find more bad and recreational players and this makes it easier and you can accumulate more chips.

If you max late reg your gunna have under 10 BBs so you would have to gamble before making it to the bounty stage anyway.

So i would say from the begining or with around 1 hour of late reg left so your not so crippled in regards to have anuff BBs to play some hands.

Suppose you won you ticket in the level 40 free on Saturday GG

And Gl what ever you decide to do

The ticket I won a long time ago for the Boubty mystery wasn't of that value, it was much smaller but if I won one of those I would register late for an hour. Because this type of tournament, if I'm not mistaken, allows late registration of up to 2 hours!(y)🍀

don't you want to cover the other players in a Bounty tourney?

Not sure I understand why you'd want to late reg.?

If you entered the tournament yourself, I certainly recommend that you do this from an early stage of the game because you will get more information about players and how they play this will help in the future in the later stages of the game if you suddenly come across them, and you can also beat a lot of bad players early because later they will be beaten out by other players and you will not get so many chips, so definitely if you are an average player, it's better to enter earlier to the tournament

Late reg means you could be missing out on many bounties
I never enter them late because a bunch of the money is already gone
3-5 min late so you are a few antes higher than most of the table👍

Not in this format as the bounties dont kick in till level 14 or so.

Depends how long the late reg period is. Assuming you are less skilled than the average opponent (as I gather you dont normally play these stakes) then late reg has some merit, especially if long late reg period. But the problem is your stack will be fairly small when you enter so difficult to win any bounties initially. I can see pros and cons of both, I would probably late register if getting some return from your ticket is the priority (rather than the possibility of a big payday)

Well I decided to early reg to try and build up a stack. 2nd hand I got a set, unfortunately it was beaten by a higher set, so I lost 60% of my stack. Never recovered, clung on for an hour, going out with AK beaten by 99.

What a shame, higher sets are a killer, and AK takes me out of so many games.
Hope you get to play another big one soon👍
