How much does your table image matter once you’re deep in a tournament? Do you actively try to change it depending on the opponents or stick to a consistent style?:love:

All information is important, and if you have a dirtier image and bluffed a few hands and didn't check, it's better to play a little tighter, and if you're playing few hands you'll usually end up pulling in more chips without a showdown.

In online poker "table image" is usually not particularly important. On the final table of a big MTT, people will likely pay attention to, how active you have been, and adjust at least a little bit. But in general a lot of players are multitabling, and if the site allow HUDs, its more important, what data people have picked up on their HUDs. If for instance you only ever 3-bet preflop for value, this will eventually show up in your HUD-stats, if you play with the same people regularly. And then they will exploit you by overfolding to your 3-bets.

But most of the time you are just levelling yourself, if you care to much about your percieved "table image". There are situations though, where I will take it into account. If for instance its short stacked play on the bubble of a SnG or an MTT final table, and I have been jamming on people over and over again, because I am the chip leader, I will typically think, that this might have put some of them on tilt. So I might fold some marginal hands to aviod getting spite called by someone, who just had enough of me and dont have the discipline to keep folding, when they should.

Gotta be able to switch gears based on stack size. When you get in the money you gotta take ICM into consideration as well. Anyone sticking to the same style the whole MTT isn't gonna be a winning player long term.

When I'm deep stacked I play mainly TAG but will also when in position play loose aggressive when I think I can get away with it. I'll also call normal sized raises really wide when I can play other big stacks heads up when I have position. In hopes of flopping a monster with less then premium hands so I can double up my already deep stack. Works a lot as they never see the hand I have coming. They think I'm a complete TAG player cause that's what their HUD tells them lol.

Cheers!!!

Online - never.

Live - I quickly discovered that being a middle aged woman at a poker table comes with an instant image that doesn't shake no matter how you play. So no, since it doesn't matter what I do I don't concern myself with it.

Your poker image is how everyone else at the table perceives you. If you've been folding every hand for an hour, you should expect most of your opponents to fold their marginal hands against your next sudden raise. Conversely, if you've been raising every hand, you should expect to be played much looser.Knowing what everyone is thinking about you will greatly increase your ability to adapt and make better decisions.
