How has your playing style changed over the last year?

Over the last year, I feel like my playing style has gone through some real changes. I started out pretty tight because I didn’t want to make mistakes, but recently I’ve been experimenting with widening my ranges and making more aggressive plays, especially around the middle stages of tournaments. Still, I sometimes catch myself going back to “old habits” like overfolding in tough spots or avoiding marginal calls.

How about you guys – how has your game evolved in the last year or two? Did you make a conscious change in your strategy, or did it just happen naturally through experience?

Over the last year my style has definitely shifted. I started out super tight because I didn’t want to make big mistakes, but lately I’ve been opening up ranges and getting more aggressive in the mid stages. That said, I still slip back into old habits sometimes, like overfolding in tricky spots or passing on marginal calls I probably should take.
