Every tournament table seems to have its own “personality.” Some are full of rocks barely entering a pot, while others feel like a splash-fest where half the table limps or raises every hand. I try to adapt by tweaking my open sizes, widening or tightening my 3-bet range, and cutting down on bluffs against clear calling stations.

The tricky part is figuring out where to draw the line between healthy adjustment and completely abandoning my core strategy.

How do you decide when it’s time to shift gears? Do you follow specific signals before changing your plan, or rely on a default framework no matter what? Would love to hear how other players approach table dynamics during an MTT.

You should make your “core strategy” adjusting to players. This should be happening from the first hand to the last. So don’t go in with the mindset that today I am going to play tight, loose, etc, go in with today I will figure out who is doing what and I will adjust to take advantage of that.
