What are your thoughts on this topic? Is it worth using or not? I've dealt at the final table many times, but I've never had all the players agree. The majority was always against it. Sometimes, one or two players were missing. Later, it turned out that those with the largest bankrolls who opposed it were the first to be eliminated.

If you are time constrained, if you do not have an edge, if its life changing money, or if you are getting better than an ICM split- then deals are great.

You have a massive edge against weak players late in a tournament, so only deal if you have a very good reason.

... which can definitely happen, I've had deals where I've had less than 50% of the stack of some other players and we split evenly.

Ideally you are playing tournaments where you have edge on most opponents. But there can be reason to take a deal. Classic ICM deal will be great to take if you are a middle stack with CL right behind you and bunch of shorties around. Because ICM doesnt calculate with how horrible your future opportunies are. So even with some edge, it might be good to take it. Taking ICM deal when you are CL is obviously extra bad. Especially in hyper turbos it can be great to take deal after you play your UTG. Not so relevant with avg stacks at 40bb, but if avg is 7bb, I would take it on UTG even against pretty weak players.
And of course if its manual deal and you can talk your way into better number than deserved then take it.

Agree with MTT Database.

But for me personally unless it's huge life changing money I'm more inclined to play it out even if I knew I was the dog against better players. I like and want the challenge it's a big part of why I play.

Cheers!!!

Even if it was possible, I would never take a deal involving the entire final table, since this is the time, the real game begin, and there are almost always at least a few bad players left. But when its down to 2 or 3, I often agree to a deal, if they are solid players. It saves time and reduce variance.
