and you're last to act.....obviously you already put up 10K or won your way in. Anyways, on the first hand of the tourney, you're last to act and look down to see AA!! The guy in front of you announces,"All in". Do you call and risk being busted out?
What if you had Pocket Kings? would you call then?
Just wondering what you all were thinking...and how much of a gambler you are.

I would call in both situations.....if you lose at least you have a good story to tell.

Absolutely, I would hope anyone would call away. If you are going to lose it might as well be with cards like that.

If you are not going to call and try to double your stack, what chance do you have of ever winning a hand in the tourney?

This is the best hand you will get pre-flop. Just take your chance...its only 10k!!

This is a good question.

The answer is easy. You should call. Against a lower ranked pair - KK or worse, you will be an 4 to 1 favorite and against AK suited or worse, you'll at least be a 8-1 favorite. Given that you are getting around 1-1 for your money, but are that much of a favorite, you have to call because the pot odds are so good.

During the wsop you'll be put to the test many times and you can only hope to have odds that are as good as these.

The point is, if you can't bring yourself to call in a situation like this, maybe Poker is not for you....and if it is, the WSOP is not for you because you'll never win.

Given the situation you describe, there would be a much higher probability than normal of finding that your opponent will have the other two Aces with the most likely probability, a split pot.

That is unless, your opponent usually gets his or her poker fix from playing the play chip tables at UB, but that's another story!

Hi - I'd call for sure. He either has A/K or A/X or pp's and you beat both of those unless another K or X or pp card comes up. The odds are pretty good. And it would be a great story. The better story would be to win the WSOP! LOL

Well....with AA i would definately call. You are a 4-1 favorite. However with KK I likely would muck. It's the first hand of the tourny and you could be up against AA, and likely are up against AK or AQ, or QQ(yes vs QQ you're a big favorite). In any case that KK is taking a risk, why risk your tournament on the first hand? I personally would like to see a few flops before taking an all in dive.

If you won't call a allin with AA preflop, you have no chance at cashing in a Tourney. WSOP you ill get ate alive.

In that situation YOU HAVE TO CALL, YOU WANT TO CALL!!! You're odds are great before the flop, and you have a chance to double up to put u in good chip position early in the tournament. If you're afraid or even seconding guessing calling the all in with AA then you should not be playing poker. In addition that means you're not there to win or even make the money.

It's a no brainer CALL

this is what would happen to me if I had AA and facing an all in call for me...the other guy would have AA also and catch 4 board cards to get a flush and knock me out..

and yes...it has happened to me before

In the WSOP, I don't think I would even hesitate. Pct aces are sweet, and unless playing online, they tend to hold up. May I be so lucky when I go the WSOP.
