This happened to me last night after losing a good amount of chips becuase I thought the player was bluffing. This happened RIGHT after and I wondering if I made a stupid move here. The blinds are 100/200 and you are in middle position with 3000 chips. You are dealt :js4: :jc4: What do you here? I raised it to 1200. The player right after me goes all in, about 4800 in chips. Everyone folds after him and it's up to you. What do you do then? I called. I won't tell you the result unless you want me to, I'm more interested in my play on this hand.

Nice post T1. Well its totally dependant on what sort of player that you single opponent is. What sort of hands has he being showing down. Has he overbet AK-AJ in the past.

From the information youve given me, he has no reason to push all-in with AA or KK, a call would be my play here, id be leaning on the call option, but at best your going all in on a coin flip. Folding leaves you with 9BB and shortstacked.

yea that was a pretty big raise you put in too, so i think regardless what he has, unless you know his style of play and are 100% sure hes got a bigger pair, you're too pot committed after the raise

I don't have to worry about this because I pushed. ;)

If you're calling a re-raise here, just push to start with.

You already have committed over a third of your stack to the hand. After your preflop raise, I think you would be forced to push here and hope for the best.

I would only do the standard raise here, you were not really short stacked yet with 3000 in chips. You will be considered shortstacked if you fold, so you might as well get your money in with a top ten starting hand.
