BB is pretty loose/aggressive, haven't seen him check-raise before. Button is standard/aggressive.

pokerstars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (4 handed) converter

SB (t11497)
BB (t11207)
Hero (t12394)
Button (t6902)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Ks, Kh.
Hero raises to t1000, Button calls t1000, 1 fold, BB calls t600.

Flop: (t2675) 9d, 8s, 8d (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t2000, Button calls t2000, BB raises to t4000, Hero ???

Lots of drawing hands out there to worry about. Flush, straight, and a set of 8s. Hate when that happens. Can you put him on an 8 with the raise preflop?

I put him on a draw to flush/straight and is trying to scare everyone off with the scary flop. I would put all my money in then and there all in and make him decide if he wants to draw it out. If he has the 8, nice call preflop.

I tend to be very aggressive short handed and make people pay dearly to try and out draw me, sometimes to my demise.

Though decision. You said BB is loose/aggressive and you haven´t seen him check-raising. If the BB is loose, it´s 4 handed and there were 2 callers, i would expect he could call with anything that raise in order to protect his blind. I put the button on pocket pair or two high cards, nothing to worry about. What would really scare me is the check-min raise the BB made. Generally the min-raise means strenght, because he want to be called. The 8 is a very possible card that BB might be holding. Now i´m going to say my decision: I think the button has two options, all in or fold (if he just calls he would have left just 1902). Assuming he will fold, you have to pay 2000 in orden to win 11200. I´m telling that numbers to give an idea of were are you standing, not to apply EV, because in a situation like that were an all in will cost you virtually the elimination of the tourney, the EV decreases its value. If you fold you will have left 9394, a good stack keep playing comfortable for a while. As GF said there are lots of drawing hands. The BB also may have a straight or flush draw. If you had a read on him of what he did when he had a draw (like a tendency to semi-bluff or just to call), things would be easier. Anyway you said he hardly check-raised, so i would take it as a signal of a good hand, probably trips. In conclusion, it´s an all in or fold situation, and i think i would fold (but maybe in that circumstance my inexperience wouldn´t allow me to make that laydown and i would raise all in in hope of him having a draw).

I thought if anyone had a draw here it was Button. I doubt BB would check-raise here with a draw, results show I may have been wrong however.

Flop: (t2675) 9d, 8s, 8d (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t2000, Button calls t2000, BB raises to t4000, Hero folds, Button calls t2000.

Turn: (t12675) 6d (2 players)
BB bets t2000, Button folds.

Final Pot: t14675

Results below:
No showdown. BB wins t14675.

I have no idea what either player held here. BB could be anything from diamonds, 99-AA (QQ/KK/AA are unlikely here imo because of the preflop actuion, but possible), A8 or K8, I have no clue what Button calls a bet and the check-raise on the flop and folds the turn with though, only things I can think of are A9, K9, or maybe an oddly played JT.

All in all on reflection I think I did the right thing in folding though. That's often a good flop for KK, but with the action I figured I was beat (after using up most of my time bank :p).

Well I don't think he had an 8 - there were only 2 out there and SB had folded one of them - grrrrrrr :)

First off, raise to 1200 preflop...

Your flop bet is fine...the button might be calling with a hand like J-10 behind you. The BB's check raise is a little alarming, but he might be doing it with a hand like A9.

I think I push afer the CR on the turn here...just my opinion. I think you get shown a lower PP or a hand like A9/AJ/AQ/AK/K9/9-10 more often than an 8...

1000 (2.5*BB) had been enough to steal the blinds, and I like to maintain consistency in my betting most of the time.
