Hello,
Phil Ivey is looking down at suited connectors 7 8 of diamonds. The board reads 8 7 A A 2. Phil Ivey bets 25,000 (normal chip stack 800,000). The proffesor raised Phil another 50,000. Does Phil Holdem or foldem?

A value bet?? One would think to hold-em here even if you are beat. Besides you've allready commited that much money to the pot, what is a value bet going to hurt to see if you are indeed the winner.

You are paying him off but I think you got to keep him honest there and see the cards. I hate the little bets on the river, so tempting to call but seems like they are always a sucker bet.

Would like a little bit more info on who was betting and when. Has the professor just been calling all the way just to fire out here or has he been the aggressor?

Would also like to know what the suits of the cards are. And the size of the pot after the proffesor bets is a huge factor.

i agree with gfpokerfan you need more info to make a better analysis of this play, but from looking at whats flopped there's so many hands that beat you like any pocket pair higher than an eight, or a pair of eights with a big kicker.
