That kind of logical, you all had the straight there. So split up that pot. I suppose you were just a little bit lucky ;)

OK, but I did say it was 5 player tournament - I don't think there's anything wrong with calling all in with 77!??

It would appear so, wouldn't it josh? I am baffled by the "all-in" move though. You said an "all-in, call." Were you raised, all-in or was it your decision to make an all-in move on the second hand with pocket sevens? Either one is questionable, but I'm just wondering. You had to think you were behind in the hand to an all in raise in front of you, so what made you call? The idea is to get your money in the pot with the best hand, and pocket 7's were almost certainly dominated. It was the second hand of the game, you had plenty of time to catch a decent hand and make a move later in the game.

If the straight hadn't come on the board, you would have been out unless you flopped the set which happens about 1 in every 8, and managed to dodge an A or K which also have a 1 in 8 chance.

I agree, an all-in bet after a check or minimum bet i could understand but calling an all-in? I think you were putting a little too much faith in those 7's,

Nice flop though!!

I even question the all in bet from a check or minimum raise from that position so early in the game.

Second hand of a tourney and you call an all in with 77?

Were you in a hurry to leave or something? :p

All in

I´ve seen people go all in with 33 and win, a 77 dosen´t surprise me it´s just a meter of luck! :drunken_s

I've seen people win pots with 7-2os, that doesn't make it a smart hand to play.

Definitely wouldn't have gone all in on 7's on the second hand of the game. Last night, I folded pocket queens because there was an ace, king, and flush draw on the board without even having to take a minute to think about it. And yes, as the cards finished coming out, my queens would have been beaten by at least 2 players.
